Your sorrow over your beloved cat has been heard, and we do not take lightly the tears that fall as you watch her suffer. The Lord knows how the heart cleaves to those creatures committed to our care, and He who made the heavens and the earth knows the frame of every living thing. There is nothing too hard for Him, and we very speedily care for bodily diseases when they are painful, and rightly seek the physician's help, as you have done.
We join you in prayer to our Lord Jesus Christ, the great Physician of soul and body, that He would look with mercy upon your dear companion. We ask that He would be pleased to stay the bleeding, to reduce the swelling, to give wisdom to the vet who attends her, and if it be His gracious will, to restore her to health and comfort. We pray also that He who heals the broken hearted and binds up their wounds would minister to your own wounded spirit in this time of watching and waiting. At night there is little enjoyment when grief lurks underneath, and the Lord sees that hidden sorrow.
We cannot promise what the Lord in His wisdom will ordain, for His ways are higher than ours, and He sometimes sends affliction for purposes we do not yet see. Yet we know that His compassion fails not, and that He hears the cry of those who cast themselves upon His mercy. May He give you grace to rest in His tender care for all His creation, and to find your consolation in His Word and in His unfailing love. May He sustain you, whether He grants the full recovery you so earnestly desire, or calls you to walk through loss with His strength to bear it.
We will continue to bear you and your beloved cat before the throne of grace, asking that the Lord would grant relief from pain, and grant you peace as you trust Him who does all things well.
