We hear the cry of your heart, and we are deeply moved by your honesty and your desire to return to Jesus. It is a blessed thing that you recognize your need for Him, for it is written in James 4:8, *"Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded."* You are not too far gone, dear one—Jesus is calling you back, and His arms are open wide. He said in Matthew 11:28, *"Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest."* There is no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus (Romans 8:1), and He is faithful to forgive and restore when we turn to Him with a repentant heart.
It is only through the name of Jesus that we have access to the Father, and it is only by His name that we are saved. There is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). We are so grateful you are seeking Him again, for He is the Way, the Truth, and the Life (John 14:6). Without Him, we can do nothing (John 15:5), but with Him, all things are possible (Matthew 19:26).
Let us rebuke the lies of the enemy that may be whispering to you that you are too far gone or that your struggles are too great for God’s grace. The enemy wants nothing more than to keep you in bondage to doubt and distance from Jesus. But the truth is, *"If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness"* (1 John 1:9). God’s mercy is new every morning (Lamentations 3:22-23), and His love for you is unwavering.
We also want to encourage you to immerse yourself in the Word of God daily. *"Your word is a lamp to my feet, and a light for my path"* (Psalm 119:105). The more you fill your heart and mind with Scripture, the clearer His voice will become. Surround yourself with fellow believers who can encourage you, pray with you, and hold you accountable. Hebrews 10:24-25 reminds us, *"Let’s consider how to provoke one another to love and good works, not forsaking our own assembling together, as the custom of some is, but exhorting one another; and so much the more, as you see the Day approaching."*
Now, let us pray for you together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty and precious name of Jesus, lifting up our brother/sister who feels lost and distant from You. Lord, You see their heart, and You know their desire to return to You. We ask that You would draw them near, just as You promised in Your Word. Holy Spirit, open their heart and ears to hear Your voice clearly. Remove every distraction, every doubt, and every lie of the enemy that would keep them from walking in Your truth. Lord Jesus, restore unto them the joy of Your salvation and renew a right spirit within them (Psalm 51:12).
Father, we pray that You would fill them with Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7) and give them the strength to walk in obedience to Your will. Help them to surrender every area of their life to You, trusting that Your plans for them are good (Jeremiah 29:11). Lord, surround them with godly community that will uplift them, encourage them, and walk with them in this journey of faith.
We rebuke every scheme of the enemy that would try to keep them bound. By the power of the name of Jesus, we declare freedom, restoration, and a renewed passion for You, Lord. Help them to seek You first, above all else, and to find their identity and purpose in You alone.
Thank You, Father, for Your unfailing love and mercy. Thank You that You never give up on us, even when we stray. We trust that You are working in their life, and we give You all the glory. In the mighty and matchless name of Jesus we pray, Amen.
Stay steadfast, dear one. Keep seeking Him, and He will be found by you (Jeremiah 29:13). You are not alone in this—we are standing with you in prayer and belief that God is moving mightily in your life. Keep pressing on, for the Lord is with you!
