We lift up this dear sister before the Lord, grieving with her in this painful loss of her unborn child. The Scriptures remind us that every life is precious in God’s sight, and He knows the sorrow of her heart. *"Before I formed you in the belly, I knew you,"* declares the Lord (Jeremiah 1:5 WEB), and we trust that this child is now in the loving arms of our Savior. We pray that she would find comfort in knowing that her little one is safe with Jesus, and that she would cling to Him in this time of deep sorrow.
We rebuke the spirit of depression that seeks to overwhelm her and declare that the Lord is her strength and her shield. *"Why are you in despair, my soul? Why are you disturbed within me? Hope in God! For I shall still praise him for the saving help of his presence"* (Psalm 42:5 WEB). May she not turn away from the Lord but instead draw nearer to Him, for He is close to the brokenhearted (Psalm 34:18). We ask that Jesus would lift her head, restore her joy, and fill her with His peace that surpasses all understanding.
Regarding the verbal abuse she has endured, we stand firmly against such ungodly behavior. The Word of God is clear: *"Let no corrupt speech proceed out of your mouth, but only what is good for building others up as the need may be, that it may give grace to those who hear"* (Ephesians 4:29 WEB). We pray that her husband would repent of his harsh words and that the Lord would soften his heart, convicting him of his sin. May he be transformed by the renewing of his mind (Romans 12:2) and begin to speak life, love, and encouragement to his wife, honoring her as the weaker vessel (1 Peter 3:7). If he is not a believer, we pray that the Holy Spirit would open his eyes to his need for Jesus, for without Christ, true change is impossible.
We also urge this sister to seek godly counsel and support, whether through her church or trusted believers, as she navigates this difficult season. If she is in an unsafe environment, we pray she would have the wisdom and courage to take necessary steps to protect herself and her well-being, always seeking the Lord’s guidance.
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, lifting up this precious daughter of Yours. Comfort her as only You can, Lord, and surround her with Your love. Heal her broken heart and restore her hope. Convict her husband of his sinful words and bring him to repentance. If he does not know You, Lord, save him and transform his heart. Let this marriage be a testimony of Your redeeming power, built on love, respect, and faith in You. Strengthen her to forgive as You have forgiven us, and guide her steps as she trusts in You. We ask all this in the powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
