We lift up your dear friend to our Heavenly Father, who is the Provider of all things and the One who owns the cattle on a thousand hills. The Word of God reminds us in Philippians 4:19, *"My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus."* Yet we also know that our battles are not merely against flesh and blood but against spiritual forces, as Ephesians 6:12 tells us, *"For our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world’s rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places."*
First, we must ask—has your friend sought the Lord in this matter, or is he relying solely on his own efforts or even ungodly means to recover what was lost? Proverbs 3:5-6 instructs us, *"Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight."* If there has been any dishonesty, greed, or unrighteousness in his financial dealings, we urge him to repent and seek God’s forgiveness, for the Lord resists the proud but gives grace to the humble (James 4:6). Restitution must be pursued with integrity, trusting that God honors righteousness over schemes.
If this financial loss came through deception or theft, we pray that the Lord would expose every hidden thing and bring justice, for He is a God of righteousness. Proverbs 22:22-23 declares, *"Don’t exploit the poor because he is poor; and don’t crush the needy in court; for Yahweh will plead their case, and plunder those who plunder them."* We ask that if there are those who have wronged your friend, the Lord would convict their hearts and lead them to make restitution. But even in this, we pray your friend would not be consumed by bitterness or vengeance, for Romans 12:19 reminds us, *"Don’t seek revenge yourselves, beloved, but give place to God’s wrath. For it is written, 'Vengeance belongs to me; I will repay, says the Lord.'"*
We also encourage your friend to seek wise counsel—perhaps from godly believers or even legal advisors if necessary—while keeping his focus on the Lord. Psalm 37:5 says, *"Commit your way to Yahweh. Trust also in him, and he will do this."* Financial hardship can be a refining fire, and we pray that through this trial, your friend would draw nearer to Christ, learning to depend on Him rather than on wealth or human security.
Most importantly, we notice that this request does not invoke the name of Jesus Christ, through whom alone we have access to the Father. There is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12), and it is only through Christ that our prayers are heard. If your friend does not know Jesus as his Lord and Savior, we urge him to repent of his sins and place his faith in Christ alone for salvation. For *"if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved"* (Romans 10:9). Without this foundation, all other petitions are built on sinking sand.

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, lifting up our brother who is facing financial distress. Lord, You see his need, and You know the depths of his heart. We ask that You would provide for him according to Your riches in glory, opening doors that no man can shut and closing those that would lead him into further harm. If there has been any sin in his handling of finances—whether greed, dishonesty, or lack of stewardship—we pray You would convict him and lead him to repentance, that he may walk in Your ways.
If this loss came through the hands of wicked men, we ask that You would expose their deeds and bring justice. Soften their hearts to do what is right, or if they refuse, let their own schemes be their downfall. Guard our brother’s heart from bitterness, and let him release this burden into Your hands, trusting that You will fight for him.
Father, we also pray that through this trial, he would seek You first, knowing that man does not live by bread alone but by every word that proceeds from Your mouth (Matthew 4:4). If he does not know You, Lord, we ask that You would draw him to Yourself, that he may find his true treasure in Christ and not in earthly wealth.
Give him wisdom, Father, to navigate this situation with integrity and discernment. Surround him with godly counsel and let him not lean on his own understanding. And if it is Your will, restore what has been taken, that Your name may be glorified.
We rebuked any spirit of poverty, fear, or despair trying to take hold of his mind, and we declare that You, Lord, are his Provider. Let him testify of Your faithfulness in this season, and let his trust in You grow stronger than ever before.
