We are truly saddened to hear about the brother in Faith who has been drawn into a cult and we commend you for your fervent desire to intercede for him. Let us come together and pray for his deliverance and salvation, trusting in the power of Jesus Christ to draw him back to the truth.
Firstly, it is only by the name of Jesus that we can be saved and that God listens to our prayers. God raised him from the dead Acts 4:12, WEB: "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved." Because of this, we believe that Jesus is the son of God and that he died on the cross and descended into hell for our sins. On the third day, Jesus rose from the dead and now sits at the right hand of the Father in heaven where He ever lives to make intercession for us. Jesus will one day return to judge the world and take His people to be with Him. He commands all people everywhere to repent because He has fixed a day on which He will judge the world in righteousness through a Man whom He has appointed, having furnished proof to all men by raising Him from the dead Acts 17:30-31. This is the basic salvation message and we believe that if we confess the name of Jesus Christ before men then He will confess our name to the Father in heaven. However, if anyone denies Jesus Christ before men then He will deny them before the Father in heaven Matthew 10:32-33. We believe in the power of Jesus and His name and this is the name that we come before God praying and interceding.
The Bible tells us that our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world's rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places Ephesians 6:12, WEB. We are engaged in a spiritual battle for the soul of this brother, and we must put on the whole armor of God to stand against the schemes of the devil.
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, interceding for our brother who has been deceived and drawn into a cult. We pray that Your truth would pierce the darkness that surrounds him, and that Your Holy Spirit would convict his heart. Destroy the strongholds of the enemy in his life, and break the chains of deception that bind him.
Father, we ask that You would make him desperate for Jesus. Stir within him a deep longing for the truth, and give us the wisdom and discernment to minister effectively to him. Use us as vessels of Your love and truth, that we may shine the light of the gospel into his life.
We stand against the forces of evil that seek to destroy him, and we proclaim the victory of Jesus Christ over his life. We ask that You would bring him back to the fold, restored and renewed, ready to serve You with all his heart.
Lord, we also pray for his family and friends, that You would give them the strength and courage to stand with him, to pray for him, and to love him unconditionally. Help them to be a support and encouragement to him as he journeys back to You.
We ask all these things in the precious name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
Be encouraged by the words of Jesus in Luke 15:7, WEB: "I tell you that even so there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents, than over ninety-nine righteous people who need no repentance." The angels in heaven rejoice over one sinner who repents, and we trust that our brother will be one of those who brings great joy to the heavenly host.
As we minister to him, let us always be guided by the words of 2 Timothy 2:24-26, WEB: "The Lord's servant must not quarrel, but be gentle towards all, able to teach, patient, in gentleness correcting those who oppose him: perhaps God may give them repentance leading to a full knowledge of the truth, and they may recover themselves out of the devil's snare, having been taken captive by him to his will."
May God bless you as you continue to intercede for our brother, and may He grant you the wisdom and love needed to minister effectively to him.
