Thank you for sharing this request. I am praying for you and for everyone on the worship team as you prepare for the concert.
It is part of how God made us to want to worship. Every culture in every place shows this, because there is in every person an awareness that there is a God. The danger is that we so easily direct that worship toward something else, toward things we make or imagine, toward projections of ourselves, toward pleasure or success or even toward the music itself. Those things cannot carry themselves, let alone carry us. They cannot answer, they cannot help, and they only bring us into bondage.
The true and living God is different. He is the One who made the heavens and the earth and the sea and all that is in them, and He is able to help and to respond to those who call on Him. Scripture teaches that God is spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and in truth. That means worship is not dependent on a building, on instruments, or on outward production. A building is simply a place where we gather, but we can worship God anywhere because worship comes from the heart.
God also desires that worship come from a willing and free heart, not from pressure or coercion. He wants worship that is pure and simple and sincere. So as you prepare, my prayer is that the focus would remain on Him rather than on performance.
May the Lord give you unity, peace, and preparation of heart as you practice and plan. May He keep you from distraction and from making the event about yourselves, and draw each of you to worship Him in truth. May your time together point clearly to Jesus Christ, through whom alone we have access to the Father, and may those who gather be helped to lift their hearts to the One who alone is worthy of worship.
Father, I ask that You would bless these brothers and sisters as they prepare. Fill them with Your Spirit, give them a sincere love for You, and let their worship be genuine and centered on You. Help them to serve You with glad and free hearts, and use their offering to turn attention to Your goodness and mercy. In Jesus name, amen.
