Prayer For Worship Night

We join with you in praying for your worship night and for the entire worship team as you prepare for your church's worship concert next week. We love your heart to serve the Lord through music and to lead His people into His presence, and we ask God to bless every rehearsal, every detail, and every heart involved.
We are reminded that worship is far more than a concert or a performance, it is an offering to the Lord. God desires that we worship Him in spirit and truth as it says in John 4:24, and that we sing with skill and with thanksgiving. As Psalm 33:3 says, Sing to him a new song. Play skillfully with a shout of joy. And Colossians 3:16 says, Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom teaching and admonishing one another with psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your heart to the Lord. We pray that your preparation would be done with excellence and unity, not for the praise of men but for the glory of God, for Colossians 3:23 says, Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord, and not for men. We also pray that all things would be done decently and in order as in 1 Corinthians 14:40, so that there is peace and not confusion in your practices and in the night itself.
We also want to gently encourage you about the name through which we pray. We noticed your request did not mention Jesus, and we want to remind you that it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father and that our worship is made acceptable. Jesus said in John 14:6, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. And Acts 4:12 says, There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved. It is because of His sacrifice on the cross and His resurrection that we can boldly enter into worship, and it is in His name that our prayers are heard. If you have not already, we encourage you to place your full trust in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.
We pray together now for you all. Father, we thank You for this worship team and for the desire You have placed in their hearts to serve You. We ask in the name of Jesus that You would anoint every time of preparation, grant unity among the team members, protect their voices, their instruments, their health, and their time, and help them to work together in love and humility. Remove any spirit of anxiety, pride, or distraction, and fill them with Your peace and joy. Help them to play and sing skillfully unto You and to lead Your people to encounter You. May this night not be about performance but about Your presence, and may every song point to Christ and bring glory to Your holy name. Let all who attend be drawn closer to You and be edified by the truth of Your Word set to music. We ask all this in the precious and powerful name of Jesus, amen.

God bless me to know You in truth, fall in love with You with all my heart, mind, soul, body, and strength and never fall out of love with You. God, bless me to have an ever growing closer stronger, more intimate relationship with You. Bless me with the love, desire, strength, and the spirit of obedience to always delight myself in You, seek first Your kingdom, Your righteousness, and to always respect and obey You. Bless me to know You, the way You want me to know You. So that I will trust You with my life and anyway that You move in my life. Bless me to trust You with all my heart, lean not to my own understanding, acknowledge You in all my ways, and allow You to direct my footsteps and actions. Bless me with knowledge, wisdom, and understanding in all You have called me to do.

Let the mind that is in Christ Jesus be in me. Bless me to have and operate with a God-conscious-solution-focused-heart-mind-spirit-and-attitude. Bless me to have a God Kingdom Culture Mentality. God be with me as a mighty warrior. Let no weapon formed against me prosper. Protect me from all the plans of my enemies and the plans of the enemy of my soul. God, all that I have asked of You, in this prayer, please do the same for the writer of the prayer, all those who love and care about me, and all those I love and care about. God, please forever honor this prayer over each of our lives. God Thank You. Amen, so be it by faith, and by faith, it is so. Your request for the worship night and for the preparation of the worship team has been brought before the Lord and we join you in prayer for the concert in the week to come.
We are reminded that the Lord seeks those who worship Him in spirit and in truth, for God is a Spirit and formal worship which is not attended with the heart can never be acceptable with the Most High. Let there be good music by all means, and noble words, for these are congruous to noble thoughts, but oh let the thoughts be there, let the song be there. It is well to worship God in public and to come together with earnest minds to celebrate His praise, yet we must not come without preparation. As there is a preparation necessary for receiving rightly, so there is a preparation for offering worship rightly, and that preparation is not only of notes and voices but of the heart, with contemplation and with supplication. We would never come even to the hearing of a sermon without prayer, how much less to the leading of the praises of the people of God.
We pray also that you may keep the unity of the Spirit. It is not an ecclesiastical unity nor a mere musical unity that is required, but that unity which comes from living near to Christ, for divisions never begin with those full of love to the Savior. As you prepare together, chase out of your hearts everything which would break the unity which God has established, that with one mind and one mouth you may glorify Him.
Let us pray. O Father, we thank Thee that Thou hast given us a fountain filled with blood and a Saviour who sought us when we were lost. Prepare Thy servants for this work. Grant to each singer and player a prepared heart, a humbled and believing heart, that their worship may not be the husk and straw of formality but the living love of souls adoring Thee. Teach them to contemplate Thy mercy and to supplicate Thy grace, that their music may be the expression of true worship within. Knit them together in holy unity, that no strife nor self seeking may hinder their service. Bless their diligence in rehearsal and make their labour to be for Thy glory and for the edifying of Thy people, that when great numbers come together, all may worship with the heart and soul and Thou shalt have the praise through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
