We hear your heart, dear sister in Christ, and we join you in lifting these concerns before our Heavenly Father. It is good to give thanks for His protection and provision during your leave, for every good gift comes from Him (James 1:17). Now, as you face the uncertainties of work and the distractions of a new acquaintance, we stand with you in prayer and encouragement.
First, we want to remind you that worry does not come from God. Jesus Himself tells us, "Therefore I tell you, don’t be anxious for your life: what you will eat, or what you will drink; nor yet for your body, what you will wear. Isn’t life more than food, and the body more than clothing? See the birds of the air, that they don’t sow, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns. Your heavenly Father feeds them. Aren’t you of much more value than they?" (Matthew 6:25-26). Instead of carrying these burdens alone, we encourage you to cast them upon the Lord, for He cares for you (1 Peter 5:7). Trust in His sovereignty over your work, your schedule, and even your interactions with clients. He is your Provider and your Peace (Philippians 4:19).
We also want to address the matter of the man who was introduced to you. While it is natural to wonder about the future and the possibility of marriage, we must guard our hearts and minds in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7). If this man is not the one God has ordained for you, we pray that the Lord would remove any distractions or unnecessary attachments from your mind. Marriage is a sacred covenant between one man and one woman, designed by God to reflect Christ’s love for the Church (Ephesians 5:22-33). Therefore, we encourage you to seek the Lord’s will in this matter, asking Him to reveal His plan for your life. If this man is not your future husband, we pray that God would close the door gently but firmly, and if he is, we pray that God would confirm it in His perfect timing.
We must also gently rebuke any tendency to seek control over these situations. Your prayer included a request for no meetings with the big client this week, which may reflect a desire to avoid discomfort or challenge. However, God often uses trials to refine us and grow our faith (James 1:2-4). Instead of asking for the removal of difficulties, let us ask for the strength and wisdom to face them with grace and trust in God’s plan. Remember, "I can do all things through Christ, who strengthens me" (Philippians 4:13).
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with grateful hearts for Your protection and provision in our sister’s life. We thank You for the safety and good weather You provided during her leave, and we ask that You would continue to watch over her as she returns to her work. Lord, we lift up her concerns about the week ahead, asking that You would grant her peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). Help her to trust in Your sovereignty over her tasks, her schedule, and her interactions. Give her the strength and wisdom to catch up on her work and to face any challenges with grace and confidence in You.
Father, we also bring before You the matter of this new acquaintance. Lord, we ask that You would guide her heart and mind according to Your will. If this man is not the one You have ordained for her, we pray that You would remove any distractions or attachments from her mind. Help her to seek You first in all things, trusting that You will provide for her needs in Your perfect timing. If this man is part of Your plan, we ask that You would confirm it clearly and prepare both of their hearts for the sacred covenant of marriage.
Lord, we rebuke any spirit of worry or control in her life. Help her to surrender her plans and desires to You, trusting that Your ways are higher than her ways (Isaiah 55:8-9). Fill her with Your peace and joy as she walks in obedience to You. We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
We encourage you to meditate on God’s Word and to seek His face daily. Remember that He is your Refuge and Strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1). Trust in Him, and He will direct your paths (Proverbs 3:5-6). If you find yourself struggling with worry or distraction, turn to Scripture and prayer, for "the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus" (Philippians 4:7). You are not alone, dear sister. We stand with you in faith, believing that God is working all things together for your good (Romans 8:28).
