Prayer for work

We join with you in prayer and we are grateful you have come in Jesus' name, for it is through Him we have access to the Father and confidence that He hears us.
We lift up your physical needs at work, especially your back, and we ask the Lord to be your protector and your strength. We know our bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit and we are to be good stewards of them while also trusting God to sustain us. We pray for wisdom for you to use proper posture, rest, and care as you labor, and we trust God to guard you from injury. Scripture reminds us, Fear not, for I am with you. Don't be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness. Isaiah 41:10 and Yahweh will keep you from all evil. He will keep your soul. Yahweh will keep your going out and your coming in, from this time forward, and forever more. Psalm 121:7-8
We also join you in praying for spiritual protection. As you go into the workplace there are unseen pressures and spiritual battles, and we pray the Lord covers you. We pray you will put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. Ephesians 6:11 and we cling to the promise that But the Lord is faithful, who will establish you and guard you from the evil one. 2 Thessalonians 3:3 and For he will put his angels in charge of you, to guard you in all your ways. Psalm 91:11
We pray too for energy, focus and strength to do your work well unto the Lord. Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord, and not for men. Colossians 3:23 We ask God to renew you daily, for He gives power to the faint. To him who has no might he increases strength. Isaiah 40:29 and we remember I can do all things through Christ, who strengthens me. Philippians 4:13 and Those who wait for Yahweh will renew their strength. They will mount up with wings like eagles. They will run, and not be weary. They will walk, and not faint. Isaiah 40:31
We pray together now, Father in heaven, we lift up this dear one to You in the mighty name of Jesus. We ask for Your hand of protection over their back and body at work, guard them from strain, injury and harm, grant wisdom and care in every task. Surround them with Your spiritual protection, cover them with the blood of Jesus, let no weapon formed against them prosper and keep the evil one far from them. Fill them with fresh energy, clear focus and physical strength for each workday, that they may labor with diligence and joy as unto You. Let Your peace guard their heart and mind and let Your presence go with them. We thank You that You are our refuge and strength, our ever present help. We ask all this in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, amen.
We encourage you to continue to bring every workday before the Lord, to pray briefly before you begin, to stay rooted in the Word, and to rest when you can, trusting that Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest. Matthew 11:28 We are standing with you for protection, endurance and peace at work.

We are praying with you for your work and we hear how much you want to honor God there while staying safe and steady through each shift.
Carrying concern for your back while also wanting spiritual protection, energy and focus is a lot to hold at once. We thank God for the work He has given you and that He sees every hour you put in, even when you feel tired or stretched thin.
One small step that often helps is to build a simple rhythm around your workday. If your back has been giving you trouble, please consider checking in with your doctor or clinic alongside prayer, and talking with a supervisor about the safest way to do the lifting or standing your job requires. For focus and spiritual steadiness, many find it helps to pause briefly as you start your shift to ask the Lord for protection and clarity, and then to take the brief rest breaks you are allowed to breathe, reset, and pray again.
We are asking God to be your strength and keeper at work.
Father, we lift our brother to You and ask for Your protection over his back and his whole being as he works. Cover him spiritually, guard his heart and mind, and give him energy, focus and strength for each task. Help him to feel Your presence with him and to rest in Your care. In Jesus' name, amen.

Beloved of All
We have received your request and we join with you in bringing it before the throne of grace in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord.
You ask for protection over your back and for spiritual protection, and for energy and focus and strength at work. We are reminded that human strength in any form will spend itself in due time. All strength apart from God is derived strength and must come to an end, but they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength. To them that have no might He increases strength, and He gives power to the faint.
Take comfort in that sure promise, as thy days so shall thy strength be. This provision is meant to meet weakness. It does not say as thy desires are, but as thy days are. A day of little service will have little strength, and a day of great labour and great trial will have strength sufficient for it. He can bestow physical strength and mental strength and spiritual strength, and He gives strength just where the strength is needed and of that peculiar kind which the trial demands. When you feel the work is beyond you, stop a moment and breathe a prayer for more strength, for He will strengthen you in the Lord.
You also seek spiritual protection. The Scripture assures us that He shall give His angels charge over thee to keep thee in all thy ways. He who travels on the King's highway is under the King's protection. Therefore we encourage you to walk in the appointed ways of obedience and childlike trust in His providential guidance, grappling the truths of God to you and waiting upon Him to know what you shall do. This protection is both personal and perpetual, for you will always need Divine keeping.
Let us pray together.
O Lord our God, Thou art the glory of our strength, and all strength of every sort comes from Thee. We thank Thee that Thou art the Author of all being and the giver of every good gift. We bring our brother before Thee who labours with his body and his mind. Lay Thy hand upon him for protection. Guard his back and his frame as he works, preserve him from injury, and grant him health and vigour to do his duty. Surround him with Thy angelic keeping and keep his soul from the assaults of the evil one, from error and from temptation. Let him abide under Thy shadow and walk in Thy ways.
We ask Thee to renew his strength as he waits upon Thee. Give him energy when he is weary, focus when his mind is distracted, and steadfastness for every task Thou hast appointed for his hands. Let the joy of the Lord be his strength, that inward joy which quiets the heart and makes a man to work with renewed energy for Thy glory. Teach him to work not in his own strength but in Thine, for when a man learns to work with God's strength he can do all things which God calls him to do.
We ask this not because we are worthy, but because when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly. Hear us for His sake, and let Thy strength be made perfect in weakness. Amen.
