Thank you for sharing this request for prayer concerning your work. It is good to bring these practical needs before the Lord, because He cares about the work of your hands and the way you carry it out each day.
Scripture shows that God Himself gives wisdom and understanding for skilled work. When the sanctuary was to be built, the Lord filled men with wisdom of heart to work as engravers and craftsmen, to work with metal and fine materials and to do every kind of careful work. That same Lord is able to give you wisdom, steady hands, clear focus and understanding for the tasks set before you, especially when you are handling metal and sharp tools where care is so important.
God also does His work through willing hearts. He stirs the heart to come and do the work, and His work is accomplished as His people offer themselves willingly to Him. Whatever you do, you can do it as unto the Lord, with quiet diligence and faithfulness. The Bible teaches that if a person is able to work, he should work quietly and provide for his own needs, and that diligence in work honors God.
At the same time, the Lord is working in you before He works through you. Often He shapes character by gently removing rough edges, and that shaping is not always comfortable and not always understood at the time. Scripture encourages us to count it as joy when we go through hard testings, because God is preparing us for the work He has planned for us to do for His glory. He has a purpose for your life, and the One who began a good work in you will continue to perform it until the day of Christ.
Your greatest rest is not found in your own effort but in the finished work of Jesus Christ. God rested after creation because His work was complete, and Jesus finished the work of redemption on the cross. There is nothing you can add to that salvation. You are called simply to believe on Him whom the Father has sent. When you rest in that finished work, you can then labor from rest, not for acceptance, but because you are already accepted in Him. Keeping your heart with diligence and keeping your focus on the Lord rather than on the pressures and problems helps your spirit stay steady, and your problems grow smaller as you look to His greatness and mercy.

Father, thank You for Your grace that saved us through the work of Jesus, and for Your Spirit who draws us near when we were without hope. I ask that You would fill this dear one with energy, focus and strength for every task at work. Grant wisdom and understanding for all the skilled work that must be done, and give a calm and attentive mind. Keep watch over him for safety as he works with metal and sharp objects, guarding his hands and body from harm. Stir his heart to work willingly and faithfully as unto You, and work in his heart to shape him more into the image of Christ. Help him to wait patiently on You and to trust You to work out what is needed, and to keep his eyes on You throughout the day. Let Your peace and strength sustain him, and let the work of his hands be a testimony to Your goodness. In the name of Jesus, amen.
