We come before the Lord with gratitude for the opportunity to lift up this request for diligence and excellence in work, as we are reminded in Colossians 3:23-24, *"Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord, and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance; for you serve the Lord Christ."* It is a blessing to labor with purpose, knowing that our efforts are ultimately for God’s glory.
However, we must gently address that the name of Jesus was not invoked in this request. Scripture is clear that our prayers are to be directed to the Father in the name of Jesus, for it is written in John 14:6, *"Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me.'"* Additionally, in John 16:23-24, Jesus tells us, *"Most certainly I tell you, whatever you may ask of the Father in my name, he will give it to you. Until now, you have asked nothing in my name. Ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be made full."* There is no other name by which we are saved or through which we can approach God (Acts 4:12). If you have not yet placed your faith in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, we urge you to do so, for *"if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved"* (Romans 10:9).
Let us pray together for this individual, that they may not only excel in their work but also walk in the fullness of God’s will, seeking first His kingdom and righteousness (Matthew 6:33).

Heavenly Father, we lift up this beloved one to You, asking that You grant them wisdom, strength, and favor in their work today. May their hands be skillful, their mind sharp, and their heart aligned with Your purposes. Help them to work as unto You, knowing that their labor is not in vain when it is done for Your glory. Lord, we pray that if they do not yet know You, You would draw them to Yourself through Jesus Christ. Open their eyes to see His love, His sacrifice, and His lordship, that they may place their faith in Him alone for salvation.
We also ask that You would guard their heart from pride or anxiety in their work, but instead fill them with Your peace and humility. May their efforts bear fruit that honors You and blesses others. If there are any challenges or obstacles in their path today, Lord, we ask that You would remove them or give them the grace to overcome. Let their work be a testimony of Your goodness and faithfulness.
Finally, Father, we pray that this one would grow in their relationship with You, seeking You daily and walking in obedience to Your Word. May they find their identity and worth in Christ alone, not in their performance or the approval of others. We ask all these things in the mighty and precious name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
