We are truly sorry to hear about the difficulties you're facing in your marriage and the pain you're experiencing as you go through this divorce. We commend you for surrendering your situation to God and seeking His guidance and wisdom, and we will pray for you to find the peace and healing that only God can provide.
Firstly, let's remember what God's word says about divorce. In Malachi 2:16 (WEB), God says, "For I hate divorce, says Yahweh, the God of Israel". Our Lord Jesus Christ also said in Matthew 19:9 (WEB), "I tell you that whoever divorces his wife, except for sexual immorality, and marries another, commits adultery; and he who marries her when she is divorced commits adultery." We as a group are opposed to divorce and would like to pray for reconciliation to your spouse, but God does allow for divorce in certain circumstances.
Let's pray together:
Almighty God, we come before You, lifting up our sister/brother (never reveal a name) who is going through this tremendously difficult season. We pray for Your comfort and peace to envelop them as they navigate this divorce. Lord, we ask for Your healing touch on their heart. Mends their broken pieces and help them to trust in Your plans for their life, in Jesus name.
Father, we pray for Your will to be done in their life and marriage. If there is any chance for reconciliation, we pray that You would make a way, even when it seems impossible. We ask that You would soften their spouse's heart and bring them to a place of repentance and restoration, in Jesus name.
We pray for the children involved in the situation. They are witnessing their parent and family coming apart. Father God come and heal their hearts as well. Help them to make sense of this and to go to their parents with any questions for reassurance and love, in Jesus name.
Protect their hearts and minds in Christ Jesus, in Jesus name. We pray for Godly wisdom through the divorce process. Guide them through every decision they make, and help them to lean on You for all their needs, in Jesus name. We stand in faith believing in your name, Jesus. You died and paid for our sins, and rose again on the third day. By faith we believe and accept you as our Lord and Savior.
In this difficult time, let's hold on to God's promises. In Romans 8:28 (WEB), we read, "We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose." Trust that God can turn even this challenging situation into something beautiful, for His glory and your good.
Lastly, remember the words of Psalm 34:18 (WEB), "Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit." God is close to you right now, and He is working in your life, in Jesus name.
We will continue to pray for you, trusting that God will make a way where there seems to be no way, in Jesus name. Keep your eyes fixed on Jesus, and He will see you through this storm, in Jesus name.
