We join you in bringing this request before the Lord together in Jesus' name, asking for His clear guidance as you seek to discern your vocation. We understand how weighty this question can feel, and we thank God for the desire in your heart to seek His will truly rather than simply following your own plans or the expectations of others.
The Scripture reminds us that our primary vocation is to belong to Him and to glorify Him in all we do. Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord, and not for men Colossians 3:23. For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared before that we would walk in them Ephesians 2:10. God has prepared good works for you and He delights to make His path known to those who seek Him with a humble and willing heart. Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight Proverbs 3:5-6. We also take comfort in the promise that if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him James 1:5, and that He says, For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says Yahweh, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future Jeremiah 29:11.
We notice that your request did not mention the name of Jesus, and we want to gently share why this is so important to us. It is only through Jesus Christ that we have access to the Father, and there is no other name by which we can be saved. Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me John 14:6. There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved Acts 4:12. If you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved Romans 10:9. It is through faith in Jesus that our prayers are heard and our lives find their true calling, so we encourage you to place your trust fully in Him as Lord and Savior if you have not already, and to bring every question about vocation before Him in that precious name.
We pray together for you now. Father in heaven, we lift up this dear one to You in the name of Jesus. We ask that You grant clarity, peace, and true discernment concerning vocation. Remove confusion and fear, and help this heart to hear Your voice above all others. We pray that You would transform and renew the mind according to Romans 12:2 so that Your good and acceptable and perfect will may be proved. Lead by Your Word, by the counsel of godly believers, by open and closed doors, and by the quiet witness of Your Holy Spirit. Give courage to follow where You lead, whether that be to a particular work, ministry, or state of life, and help all decisions to be made for Your glory and for the good of Your kingdom. We ask that You provide confirmation and patience in the waiting, and that You would be glorified in every step. In Jesus' name we pray, amen.
We encourage you to continue seeking Him diligently through prayer, through daily reading of Scripture, through fasting as the Lord leads, and through seeking wise counsel from mature believers and pastors who know you well. Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what is the good, well-pleasing, and perfect will of God Romans 12:2. Be faithful in the small things before you today, for God often reveals the next step as we walk obediently in the present one. We will continue to pray that the Lord makes His calling unmistakably clear to you and gives you joy and peace as you follow Him.
