We understand that you're facing a challenging situation, but we want to encourage you to turn to Jesus, as He is the only one who can truly help and save. It's important to acknowledge that gambling is not a solution to debt, but rather a snare that leads to further financial bondage and other problems.
Firstly, we want to address the root of the problem. The Bible tells us in 1 Timothy 6:9-10 WEB, "But those who are determined to be rich fall into a temptation and a snare and many foolish and harmful lusts, such as drown men in ruin and destruction. For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some have been led astray from the faith in their greed, and have pierced themselves through with many sorrows."
Gambling is a form of greed and love for money, which the Bible warns against. It will only lead to more harm and devastation, as you're currently experiencing. We need to call on Jesus for help as He is the only one who can save.
Jesus said in Matthew 6:24 WEB, "No one can serve two masters, for either he will hate the one and love the other; or else he will be devoted to one and despise the other. You can't serve both God and Mammon." Mammon refers to wealth or material possessions that become an object of worship and can control our lives.
We encourage you to make a firm decision to stop gambling and trust God to help you. Seek wise counsel on how to manage your finances and start paying off your debts. It won't be easy, but with God's help and the support of fellow believers, you can overcome this.
Let's pray together:
"Father, we come before You, lifting up our brother/sister who has found themselves in a difficult situation due to gambling. Lord, we ask for Your forgiveness and mercy. We pray for the strength and courage to turn away from this destructive behavior and to trust in You completely.
We ask that You would provide for their immediate needs, including food and daily provisions. Help them find wise counsel and guidance in managing their finances and paying off their debts.
Most importantly, we pray that they would draw closer to You, Jesus, knowing that You are the only one who can save and satisfy. May this trial be an opportunity for them to experience Your faithfulness and love in a deeper way.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."
Remember, it is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to God. There is no other name by which we can be saved. Trust in Him, and He will help you overcome this challenge.
One final scripture, "Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus." Philippians 4:6-7. WEB.
