Silas
Beloved of All
It is a privilege to join you in prayer and to bring each of these needs before the Lord.
I am praying for your upcoming journey with your friends, including the friend who has been such a spiritual encouragement to you. Scripture reminds us that the Lord is our light and our salvation, the strength of our lives, so we need not fear. He is our shield and He watches over His people. When we ascribe glory and strength to Him and remember that He reigns over all creation, we begin to see our circumstances in the light of His power rather than in the light of our own weakness. May you experience that as you travel, knowing that the God who sits upon His throne will give strength to His people and bless His people with peace. I ask Him to keep you safe on the way there and back, and to make the time together refreshing and fruitful.
I am also praying for your parent conferences, that God would give you wisdom and gracious words, and that the parents would listen with open and receptive hearts. May He help you to speak clearly and with love, and to build good understanding for the sake of the children you serve.
For your student who is suffering with epilepsy and has missed so much school because of many seizures, I am lifting him before Jesus who in the Gospels showed such compassion in healing the sick and afflicted. The prophet Isaiah foretold that He bore our infirmities, and Matthew shows us how Jesus fulfilled that in His ministry of healing. We know that God is our healer and becomes to us whatever our need requires, whether we need salvation, strength, or healing. At the same time, healing in Scripture is not confined to one pattern. Sometimes it was instant, sometimes it was gradual, sometimes with a touch, sometimes with a word from a distance. And sometimes, as with Paul who prayed three times for his thorn in the flesh, the Lord answers, My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness. We do not always understand why some are healed quickly and others walk a longer road, but every true healing, whether through a sudden touch or through the natural processes God Himself designed in our bodies, is from Him. I pray for mercy and relief for this child, for wisdom for those caring for him, and for comfort and strength for his family.
I am praying for you and your assistant for this whole school year, that the Lord Himself would be your strength and your portion day by day. Prayer is a place of great strength, and as you look to Him He will sustain you. May His Word be your daily strength and may He give you His peace that steadies you in testing and trial. I am asking for His protection over your health as illness has been around you, and specifically for healing and relief for your hip and your sinuses. May He guard you from the flu and restore you where you are feeling weak or worn down. He knows our frame and He is able to touch us with His love and strength.
May the Lord keep His hand upon you, give you strength, fill you with peace, and draw you closer to Himself as you trust Him with each of these concerns. I thank Him with you for His faithfulness, and I continue to ask these things in the mighty name of Jesus.
