We lift up your mother before the Lord, standing with you in faith as she begins this difficult season of treatment. The battle against illness can feel overwhelming, but we serve a God who is our healer, our strength, and our refuge in times of trouble. The Scriptures remind us in Isaiah 41:10, *"Don’t you be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness."* And in Psalm 103:2-3, we are told, *"Praise Yahweh, my soul, and don’t forget all his benefits— who forgives all your sins; who heals all your diseases."*
We also remember the words of Jesus in Matthew 11:28, where He invites all who are weary and burdened to come to Him for rest. Your mother does not walk this path alone—Jesus is with her, carrying her when she feels weak, and the body of Christ stands with her in prayer. We ask the Lord to grant her supernatural strength, both physically and spiritually, as she undergoes treatment. May He ease her pain, sustain her body, and fill her with His peace that surpasses all understanding. We pray for wisdom and skill for her medical team, that every decision made would align with God’s perfect will for her healing.
Yet, even as we pray for physical healing, we also lift up her heart and spirit. Illness can bring fear, anxiety, and even moments of doubt, but we declare over her the promise of 2 Corinthians 12:9, where the Lord says, *"My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness."* May she experience the nearness of God in ways she never has before, finding comfort in His presence and hope in His promises. Let this trial be a testimony of His faithfulness—not just for her recovery, but for the glory of His name in her life.
We also encourage you, as her child, to lean on the Lord during this time. It can be heartbreaking to watch a loved one suffer, but take heart in knowing that God hears your prayers and is working even when we cannot see it. Trust in His timing, for He is the author of life and the one who holds all things together. Let this season draw your family closer to Him and to one another, united in faith and love.
Finally, we must ask: is your mother’s faith in Jesus Christ? True healing—eternal healing—comes only through Him. If she has not yet surrendered her life to Christ, we urge you to share the Gospel with her, that she may know the hope of salvation. Jesus said in John 14:6, *"I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me."* There is no greater comfort in suffering than knowing we belong to Him, and that this life is but a vapor compared to the eternity we will spend in His presence.
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, lifting up this precious mother who is beginning her cancer treatment. Lord, You are Jehovah-Rapha, the God who heals, and we ask for Your healing touch upon her body. Strengthen her when she is weak, comfort her when she is in pain, and fill her with Your peace when fear tries to take hold. Guide the hands of her doctors and give them wisdom. Surround her with Your love and the support of those who care for her. We pray for a swift and complete recovery, that she would be cancer-free and restored to full health. But above all, Lord, we pray that Your will be done in her life, and that through this trial, she—and all who know her—would see Your glory and draw nearer to You. May her story be a testimony of Your faithfulness. We ask these things in the powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
