We lift up your ### before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, recognizing the deep spiritual battle he is facing. Unbelief, unforgiveness, and the bondage of alcoholism are chains that only the power of Jesus Christ can break. We stand in the gap for him, declaring that no stronghold is too great for our Lord, who came to set the captives free.
First, we must address the root of unbelief, for without faith in Jesus Christ, there is no foundation for true transformation. The Bible tells us, *"For God so loved the world, that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life"* (John 3:16). Salvation is not found in philosophy, good works, or self-effort—it is found only in repentance and faith in the finished work of Christ on the cross. We pray that your ###’s eyes would be opened to the truth of the Gospel, that he would turn from doubt and embrace Jesus as his Lord and Savior. Without this, all other efforts will be in vain, for *"there is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved"* (Acts 4:12).
Unforgiveness is another heavy burden he carries. The Word of God is clear: *"For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you don’t forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses"* (Matthew 6:14-15). Unforgiveness poisons the soul, fuels bitterness, and hinders one’s relationship with God. We rebuke this spirit of bitterness in Jesus’ name and pray that your ### would release every offense to the Lord, trusting Him to be the righteous Judge. May he experience the freedom that comes from extending the same grace he has received from Christ.
Alcoholism is a snare of the enemy, designed to destroy lives, families, and destinies. The Bible warns, *"Don’t be drunk with wine, in which is dissipation, but be filled with the Spirit"* (Ephesians 5:18). Addiction is not merely a physical struggle—it is a spiritual battle. We renounce the lies of the enemy that tell your ### he is powerless, that he needs alcohol to cope, or that he cannot change. We declare that *"if the Son makes you free, you will be free indeed"* (John 8:36). We pray for deliverance from every craving, for strength to resist temptation, and for a renewed mind that seeks after God rather than the fleeting pleasures of this world.
We also recognize that your ### may be surrounded by influences that enable or encourage his struggles. The Bible says, *"Bad company corrupts good character"* (1 Corinthians 15:33). We pray that God would surround him with godly men who will speak truth into his life, hold him accountable, and model the freedom found in Christ. May he find fellowship in a Bible-believing church where the Word is preached, and the Holy Spirit is at work.
Father God, we come before You with boldness, knowing that You are able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think. We ask that You would break every chain of unbelief, unforgiveness, and addiction in this young man’s life. Soften his heart to receive Your love and truth. Surround him with Your presence, Lord, and let him know that he is not alone. We pray for a mighty outpouring of Your Holy Spirit upon him, that he would be born again, filled with Your power, and set on fire for You. Give him a hunger for Your Word, a passion for prayer, and a desire to walk in obedience to You.
We rebuke every spirit of deception, rebellion, and bondage that has taken hold of him. We declare that he is a child of God, created for a purpose, and that no weapon formed against him shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17). We speak life over him, Lord, and ask that You would restore what the enemy has stolen. Heal his mind, body, and spirit. Give him the strength to turn away from sin and run toward You with all his heart.
We also pray for his family, that You would grant them wisdom, patience, and grace as they intercede for him. Give them words of truth and love to speak into his life, and help them to trust You even when they cannot see the outcome. May they be a shining light of hope and a testimony of Your faithfulness.
Lord, we know that You are not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance (2 Peter 3:9). We trust in Your perfect timing and Your unfailing love. We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the Name above all names, the only Name by which we are saved. Amen.
