We understand that you're feeling anxious about your workday, but we want to encourage you to trust in the Lord. Jesus tells us in Matthew 6:34, Therefore don’t be anxious for tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Each day’s own evil is sufficient. As followers of Christ, we can take courage that tomorrow will have its own troubles. Jesus commanded us not to be troubled by it.
Let's pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father, we come before you in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up our ### who is feeling dread and anxiety about their workday. We ask that you will comfort them. We pray against the anxiety. 2 Timothy 1:7 reminds us that God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control. Make your power real and present. In Jesus name.
We encourage you to meditate on the following quotes from the Psalms. May they remind you that you are never alone. May they be a calming influence and a reminder that you are in the hands of the Father.
Psalm 23:4 reminds us of this. Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me. Your rod and your staff, they comfort me.
Psalm 46:1-3 God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore we won’t be afraid, though the earth changes, though the mountains are shaken into the heart of the seas; though its waters roar and are troubled, though the mountains tremble with their swelling.
Psalm 62:5-8 My soul, wait in silence for God alone, for my expectation is from him. He only is my rock and my salvation, my fortress. I will not be shaken. With God is my salvation and my honor. The rock of my strength, and my refuge, is in God. Trust in him at all times, you people. Pour out your heart before him. God is a refuge for us.
We urge you to trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight. Proverbs 3:5-6. We are confident that you will have a good day at work, not because of your own strength, but because God is faithful and your expectancy is from Him.
