Prayer for ### to have a better day at work

Anonymous

Beloved of All
My sister had a very rough day at work yesterday. She learned she wasn’t being promoted despite many sleepless nights to ensure that her work got done. Today she’s going into the office on a day that isn’t her regular in office day just to get more things done. I pray that the Lord will cause His peace to be upon her today. Give her comfort. And give her the patience to stay in that valley until the Lord takes the steps to lift her out. These and many other things I ask in your Son’s name. Amen

We join you in lifting up your sister before the Lord, knowing that He sees her hard work, her sacrifices, and the weariness in her heart. The disappointment of not receiving the promotion after such dedication is a heavy burden, and we pray that she would find her worth and identity not in the recognition of man, but in the unfailing love of Christ. The Scriptures remind us in Colossians 3:23-24, *"Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord, and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance; for you serve the Lord Christ."* Her labor is not in vain when it is done unto Him, and He will honor her faithfulness in His perfect timing.

It is beautiful that you have prayed in the name of Jesus, for it is only through Him that we have access to the Father. As you have acknowledged, there is no other name by which we can be saved, and it is in His name alone that our prayers are heard. Your sister’s willingness to return to the office today, despite the disappointment, reflects a persevering spirit. We pray that the Lord would renew her strength, as Isaiah 40:31 promises: *"But those who wait for Yahweh will renew their strength. They will mount up with wings like eagles. They will run, and not be weary. They will walk, and not faint."*

Yet we must also encourage her—and you—to guard against the temptation to find ultimate fulfillment in career success. The world measures worth by promotions, titles, and accolades, but the Lord measures it by faithfulness, humility, and love. If this season of waiting is causing bitterness, frustration, or anxiety to take root, we gently rebuke those emotions in Jesus’ name, for they do not align with the peace He offers. Philippians 4:6-7 tells us, *"In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus."*

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we lift our sister before You today, asking that You would be her comfort and her strength. Lord, You see the sleepless nights, the extra hours, and the heartache of unmet expectations. We pray that You would fill her with Your peace, a peace that transcends circumstances, guarding her heart and mind in Christ Jesus. Remove any bitterness or resentment that may be creeping in, and replace it with gratitude for the work You have given her to do. Help her to see this season not as a valley of despair, but as a place where You are refining her, teaching her to rely on You rather than the approval of man.

Give her wisdom to know when to rest, for You have not called her to burn out in the pursuit of earthly success. Remind her that her true promotion comes from You, and that You exalt the humble in due time (1 Peter 5:6). Surround her with Your favor today, Lord, even if it is not the favor she expected. Let her find joy in the small moments, and let her leave the office today with a sense of Your presence and purpose over her life.

We also pray for her leaders, that You would soften their hearts and give them eyes to see her value. If this door of promotion is not Your will, close it gently and open another that aligns with Your perfect plan for her life. And if it is Your will, prepare the way for her in Your timing.

Lastly, Father, we thank You that she is not alone in this. You are with her, and You have given her family who cares deeply for her. Strengthen the bonds of love and support around her, and let her feel Your love through those You have placed in her life.

We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, who understands our weariness and carries our burdens. Amen.

We encourage you to continue to remind your sister of God’s faithfulness, even in the waiting. Share with her the story of Joseph, who was faithful in both the prison and the palace, trusting that God was with him in every season (Genesis 39-41). Her story is not over, and God is not done writing it. May she—and you—find hope in that truth today.

We're right there with you, praying for your sister as she heads into the office today. We know it's not easy to face another day of work after the disappointment she's experienced, but we're reminded of Psalm 147:3, "He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds." Let's trust that the Lord is tending to her heart today, giving her the strength to endure and the peace to trust in Him.

We're also reminded of Galatians 6:9, "Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up." Your sister's hard work and dedication haven't gone unnoticed by the Lord. He sees her efforts and will reward them in His perfect timing.

Let's pray together:

Dear Lord, we ask that You would be close to our sister today. Fill her with Your peace and comfort, helping her to trust in Your love and care for her. Give her the strength to keep going, even when it's hard, and help her to find joy in the small moments. Remind her that her worth is not defined by promotions or recognition, but by the love You have for her.

We also pray for her colleagues and superiors, that they would see her value and appreciate her hard work. If this door of promotion is not Your will, we ask that You would close it gently and open another that aligns with Your perfect plan for her life. And if it is Your will, we ask that You would prepare the way for her in Your timing.

Lastly, Lord, we thank You for the family and friends who are there to support her. Strengthen those bonds of love and let her feel Your love through them.

We ask all these things in Jesus' name, Amen.

Let's encourage your sister today by sharing with her the story of David from 1 Samuel 30. After suffering a great loss, David found the strength to inquire of the Lord and then went on to defeat the enemy and recover all that was lost. Remind her that even in the midst of disappointment, the Lord is faithful and can turn things around for her good.

I prayed that God in Jesus' name will answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God Loves You. Thank You Jesus!!!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Healed Spirit Soul And Body

We want to thank you for allowing us the honor of lifting up your sister in prayer these past few days. Our hearts have been burdened alongside yours as we’ve asked the Lord to wrap her in His peace, renew her strength, and remind her that her worth is not found in earthly recognition but in being His beloved child. It’s a privilege to stand with you in agreement, knowing that He hears every cry of her heart and sees every sleepless night she has poured into her work.

If the Lord has already begun to comfort her or shift her circumstances—whether through a renewed sense of purpose, an unexpected encouragement, or even a change in her work situation—we’d love for you to share a praise report with us. There is such joy in celebrating how God moves in the lives of His people! But if this season still feels heavy and the answer hasn’t yet come, don’t hesitate to post an update or a new request. We are here to continue interceding, trusting that the Lord is working even in the waiting. His timing is perfect, and He will lift her out of this valley in His way and in His time.

May He fill your sister with an unshakable peace today as she steps into the office, and may she feel His presence so tangibly that every task—no matter how small—becomes an act of worship. We’re also praying for you, that the Lord would sustain *###* as you support her, giving you wisdom and patience as you walk alongside her. Let’s keep trusting that He who began this good work in her will be faithful to complete it.

We’re standing with you in faith, believing that God is at work—even now.
