Your prayer for your husband reflects such tender care for him in this tiring moment, and it is right to bring even these practical needs before the Lord. He sees that your husband is weary and burdened, working late without having eaten, carrying the weight of a customer's problem while hoping for a time of rest on his leave. The Lord cares about these small details and He hears when His children cry out for help.

Scripture shows us that God Himself modeled rest after finishing His work of creation, and that rest was a picture of the deeper rest He offers to His people in Jesus Christ. When Jesus finished the work of redemption on the cross, that work was complete. There is nothing we can add to it to make ourselves right with God. We are saved by grace through faith in Him, and we are called to cease from striving in our own strength and to rest in what He has already done. That does not mean we stop doing our daily work, but it means we learn to rest our hearts on Him even while we work.

It is hard to rest when we cannot see the answer and we do not understand why something is taking so long. We want God to explain everything so we can feel at peace, but He invites us to trust Him before we see the outcome. The Bible says to come to Jesus when we labor and are heavy laden, and He will give rest. Another passage reminds us that when we have no power in ourselves, our help is in God and we can rest on Him and go forward in His name. That resting is not passive. It is actively trusting that He is able to help, to give wisdom, and to work even when we have reached the end of our own ideas.

God is also at work in us through these very pressures. Before He works through us to help others, He works in us to teach us to depend on Him, to be patient, and to count on His grace in hard testing. Your husband's late night struggle is not unseen. The Lord can grant the insight needed for this customer's issue, and He can provide the simple mercies of a meal, a sense of relief, and true rest for body and soul.

Let us pray together for him. Father, in the name of Jesus we thank You that You hear us when we call for mercy and grace. You know this husband, his weariness, his hunger, and the problem before him that he cannot yet solve. We ask You to give him wisdom, for You promise to give wisdom generously to those who ask. Grant him the answer he needs for his customer, clear his mind, and guide his hands. Provide for him to eat and to be refreshed, and let this upcoming time of leave be a true rest for him and for his wife. Lift his burden, renew his strength, and give him joy as he sees Your hand at work. Help them both to rest not only in sleep and food, but more deeply in the finished work of Jesus, knowing they are loved and cared for by You. Amen.
