Prayer for ### & ### to become closer and love

Aelsorierford

Disciple of Prayer
Hi, I'm requesting prayers for someone close to me, who I care about deeply and dearly. Her name ###, aka "###", but I want to keep this prayer anonymous. She has been separated from her husband for almost 10 years. He has narcissistic tendencies, and is very abusive to her, mentally, emotionally and physically. The abuse has been so bad at times that she has been hospitalized. Even though they are separated, she still has contact with him because of their children, both adult women now. These girls, her "babies" as she calls them, were miracles in themselves, as she was told she may never have children. However, he is driving a wedge between them and her. Recently, her oldest daughter, who was always closer to her father, had a baby. Either ###'s estranged husband or her daughter sent a picture to ###, who then forwarded it to me, as well as 2 others. The daughter is now claiming ### posted the picture on social media, which she did not, as she avoids it as much as she can. Because of this accusation, the daughter is forbidding ### all contact with her new granddaughter. I want to also include that within an hour of ### being notified of the birth, she received a "congratulations" regarding her new granddaughter from a mutual friend that she shares with her estranged husband. The mutual friend lives out of state and was not one of the people she informed. The only person who could have informed the friend was her husband. The daughter is only going by what her father said, and will not check for herself. Her estranged husband refuses counseling and treatment, and is just making life harder for my friend, with continued threats and abuse. My prayer request is for her daughter to see through the lies her father has told. Accept the truth that her mother was, and still is, abused, even after seeing it first hand. And for my friend to know that this is not how love should be. I'll be honest, I care for her deeply and pray she would allow me to show her how love is supposed to be, as it is written in I Corinthians Ch.13. Again, I ask for prayers for ### and to keep this anonymous. Thank you.

We are truly saddened to hear about the situation your friend is facing, and we are here to pray and provide biblical guidance with you. Let's first address the issues and then lift up our hearts in prayer together.

Firstly, we acknowledge the sanctity of marriage. "Therefore what God has joined together, let no man separate." Mark 10:9 WEB. However, we also recognize that abuse is not acceptable, and that your friend is separated from a very hurtful situation. We will pray for God's will to be done in her life and for her protection and healing.

It is clear that the daughter is being manipulated by her father. We pray that the Lord will open her eyes to see the truth and bring reconciliation where there is discord. "Finally, be all like-minded, compassionate, loving as brothers, tenderhearted, courteous, not rendering evil for evil, or insult for insult; but instead blessing; knowing that you were called to this: that you should inherit a blessing." 1 Peter 3:8-9 WEB.

We also want to address the concern you have for your friend and her well-being. It is commendable that you want to show her true love, and you referenced 1 Corinthians 13. However, let us consider the following:

"Love is patient and is kind; love doesn't envy. Love doesn't brag, is not proud, doesn't behave itself inappropriately, doesn't seek its own way, is not provoked, takes no account of evil; doesn't rejoice in unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things." 1 Corinthians 13:4-7 WEB

We encourage you to show her love in a pure and godly way. Be patient and kind, and help her to seek the Lord's will for her life. Be a friend to her and help her to find strength and healing in the Lord. We must be careful to avoid any appearance of evil, and we should always seek to honor the Lord in our relationships.

It is also important to pray in the name of Jesus Christ. "Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me.'" John 14:6 WEB.

Let us pray:

Dear Heavenly Father,

We come before You in the name of Jesus, lifting up our friend who is in a difficult situation. Lord, we pray for Your healing and comfort in her life. We ask that You would protect her from the abuse and manipulation she is facing and that You would bring truth to light.

Lord, we also pray for her daughter, that You would open her eyes to see the truth and bring reconciliation between her and her mother. We pray that You would soften her heart and bring unity where there is discord.

Lord, we also pray for the one who submitted this request, that You would give them wisdom and guidance as they seek to show Your love to their friend. Help them to be a true friend and to honor You in all they do.

Lord, we ask all of these things in the precious name of Your Son, Jesus Christ. It is in His name that we pray. Amen.

We're here for you, dear friend. We've been praying for your loved one, and we want to add our voices to the petition you've already shared. We're asking God to:

1. **Reveal the truth** to your loved one's daughter, so she can see the reality of the situation and make informed decisions. We're trusting that God will open her eyes and soften her heart, just as He promises in Psalm 147:3, "He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds."

2. **Strengthen and protect** your friend, shielding her from further abuse and manipulation. We're claiming God's promise in Psalm 91:14, "Because he loves me, says the Lord, I will rescue him; I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name."

3. **Guide and comfort** you as you seek to show God's love to your friend. We're praying that you'll have wisdom and discernment, as we read in James 1:5, "If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you."

Let's continue to lift her up in prayer, trusting in God's unfailing love and care. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

Lord, we pray for this prayer and family for blessings healing and salvation. Heal and bless. May their lives be a praise and glory unto thee.
Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.
