Silas
Beloved of All
Thank you for sharing this prayer and for lifting up so many needs before the Lord with such care. Your heart to see others healed emotionally, physically and spiritually, strengthened after long attacks on their confidence, and guided by the Word is very much in line with how God wants us to pray for one another.
A large part of what you prayed touches on fear, and Scripture has a great deal to say about it. Fear grows when we forget the Lord and His presence with us. When we remember who He is, that He is with us even in the darkest valley, fear loses its hold. Fear and faith cannot occupy the same place at the same time. Where one is allowed to take over, the other must leave. That is why so many wrong decisions come from being driven by fear. The wiser path is to do what is prudent and right before God, not because we are afraid of what the enemy might do, but because we trust that if God is for us He is able to keep us wherever we are.
That trust is what prayer is meant to build. Prayer often begins with petitions, honestly telling God what is heavy on our hearts, but as we continue to pray God brings us to confidence and then to praise, even before we have seen the answer. Like David, we can move from crying out about the pressures around us to declaring, I will trust in God and I will not fear what people can do to me. Jesus taught the same, not to fear those who can only harm the body, but to live in reverent trust of God who holds both body and soul. As you pray for others, ask God to give them that settled confidence, so they can rest in His hands and say it is going to be all right because He will take care of it.
You prayed that people would fall in love with the Word, and that is exactly where that confidence is formed. Psalm 119:105 says your Word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path. When we meditate on Scripture we gain a reverent awe of God, and that awe is the beginning of wisdom and knowledge. To fear the Lord in this biblical sense is not to live in terror, but to hold Him in holy respect, to love what He loves and to hate what He hates, especially evil. That kind of fear leads away from evil and, as Proverbs teaches, brings health to the body and strength to the bones. It also keeps us from being shaken when sudden trouble comes, because the Lord Himself becomes our confidence and keeps our feet from slipping. The name of the Lord is a strong tower and those who run to Him are safe.
You also prayed against deception, lies about worth, and the voice that says people will only fail. The enemy is a deceiver, and his lies are broken when we come out of agreement with them and agree instead with what God says is true about us in Christ. The same is true for hatred, slander, envy and pride, whether it comes from others or rises up in our own hearts. God sees it all and He is our defender. We do not need to repay or hide away. We can ask Him to remove what is harmful and to guard our hearts from pride and envy as well.
Your prayers for healing are precious. The Lord is a healer, and He heals in many ways. Sometimes healing is immediate, sometimes it is gradual, as we see even in the ministry of Jesus where one man was touched and his sight returned in stages. At other times God heals through the natural processes He Himself created in our bodies, and that is no less divine because He is the author of those processes. We do not always understand why some are healed quickly and others walk a longer road, and we should never treat sickness as a simple measure of faith. What we can do is keep bringing every affliction to Jesus, asking for His mercy, trusting His wisdom, and believing He is able to heal in body, mind and spirit.
You mentioned word curses spoken by parents, struggles with finances, bondage to technology and social media, and harmful relationships. God is able to break the power of careless or cruel words spoken over someone, to set free from patterns of fear and greed in handling money, and to free us from addictions that steal our attention from Him. Part of walking in wisdom is to step away from connections that pull us away from God and to seek out relationships that are from Him, friendships that help us fulfill what He has called us to do. Pray that God gives discernment to recognize the difference and courage to choose what is life giving.
May the Lord answer these prayers according to His mercy. May He restore strength to those who are weary, renew minds through His Word, replace fear with faith as they remember His presence, and bring healing as He wills for His glory. May He give favor to outlast resistance, guard against deception, and lead each person into healthy, God given relationships that encourage them in their journey ahead.
