Beloved of All
Your prayer for those who are worried is heard and we join with you in lifting them before the Lord.
We ask God to grant what you have asked, His shalom peace to rule in hearts that are anxious about outcomes they cannot control. Scripture teaches that the peace of God is fixed and steadfast, not like the peace that comes from man which quickly dissolves. When two thoughts wrestle within, one urging revenge or fear and the other urging patient endurance, we pray that the peace of God will stand as umpire in the heart and give the victory to what is patient and trusting, because God Himself is peace and has made peace with us through Christ.
We also pray for those who feel shame and dishonor. True honor does not come from the opinion of others or from outward display, but from God. No one can truly put us to shame unless we dishonor ourselves before God, and no one can take from us the treasure that is above. Much anxiety in this life comes from clinging to things that fade, from covetousness and vainglory and the desire for the glory that comes from men. We pray that those who are burdened would learn to despise what is passing and to cherish what endures, so that even if they have suffered loss or insult or gossip or frustration, they would know that their honor in Christ remains secure. As it is written, instead of shame there shall be a double portion, and this promise is fulfilled for those who are in Christ, who bore our shame that we might receive everlasting joy.
So we pray now for every worried heart in this community in Jesus name. Lord, heal their wounds and heal hope that has been deferred. Deliver them from setbacks and hindrances, and guard their minds. Remove anxiety and worry, remove hurt and bitterness and anger, and take away all confusion. Where there has been any evil influence troubling their peace and mind, we ask You to break its power by the cross of Christ and to keep them in Your perfect protection. Lift them out of shame and clothe them with the honor that comes from being Your children, forgiven and loved through Jesus Christ alone.
May the Lord make a way for them, calm their fear as He calms those who come to Him, and give them confidence to seek Him and to wait for His good will. We thank You that You hear prayer and that You give peace that guards heart and mind. Amen.
