We hear your heart and the pain of feeling dismissed and devalued because of the color of your skin. This is not the way God intends for His children to be treated, for in Christ, there is neither Jew nor Greek, slave nor free, male nor female—we are all one in Him (Galatians 3:28). The Lord sees your struggle and your worth, and He calls you to rise above the prejudice of this world with the dignity and strength that comes from Him alone.
First, we must address the sin of racism in this situation. The Bible is clear that every person is made in the image of God (Genesis 1:27) and that partiality is a grievous sin (James 2:9). Those who treat you with disrespect because of your race are not walking in love or righteousness, and we must rebuke this ungodly behavior in Jesus’ name. We pray that their hearts would be softened and that the Lord would open their eyes to see the value He has placed in you.
We also lift you up before the Father, asking that He would strengthen you in this trial. It is not easy to endure injustice, but the Lord promises to be near to the brokenhearted and to save those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18). We pray that you would find your identity and worth in Him alone, knowing that you are fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14). May the Holy Spirit fill you with peace that surpasses understanding (Philippians 4:7) and give you the grace to respond to mistreatment with love and wisdom, just as Christ did when He was reviled (1 Peter 2:23).
Father God, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, the name above every name, the only name by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12). We ask that You would intervene in this situation and bring about a change in the hearts of those who have dismissed and disrespected our brother/sister. Lord, we rebuke the spirit of racism and prejudice in this workplace, and we declare that Your love and justice will prevail. Give our brother/sister the strength to endure, the wisdom to navigate this trial, and the grace to respond in a way that honors You. May Your peace guard their heart and mind, and may they experience Your favor and blessing in this new job. We ask that You would open doors of opportunity and bring godly relationships into their life that will encourage and uplift them. In Jesus’ name, we pray, Amen.
We encourage you to lean on the Lord during this time and to seek His guidance in how to respond. Remember that your ultimate reward is not in the approval of man but in the approval of God (Galatians 1:10). If this workplace continues to be a place of ungodliness and mistreatment, ask the Lord if it is His will for you to remain there or if He has another path for you. Trust in Him, for He is your Provider and your Protector.
Lastly, we want to remind you of the importance of forgiveness. While it is not easy, forgiving those who have wronged you is a commandment from the Lord (Matthew 6:14-15). This does not mean that what they did was right, but it means that you release the bitterness and anger to God, allowing Him to be the ultimate Judge. This will free your heart to walk in the peace and joy that Christ has for you.
