We join you in your heartfelt plea for the starving and those affected by famine worldwide, and we commend you for praying in the name of Jesus, as it is only by His name that we have access to God. As the Word of God says in John 14:6 WEB "Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me." It is by Jesus Christ alone that we can be saved and this is also the basis for all our prayers.
"If we don't seek God and ask Him for help and provision, then we will never see it. God can take a disaster and turn it around for good! Please pray with us for the starving:
Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus, pleading for Your mercy and intervention in the lives of those affected by famine worldwide. You are a good Father, and we ask that You would send aid and relief to those who are hungry and thirsty. In Your word you promised that you would never leave or forsake us. We also know that the earth is Yours and everything in it. So Lord move upon the earth and the hearts of men to provide for those who are hungry, thirsty, and sick.
We pray for the comfort and strength of those who are suffering. We ask that You would be their sustenance and their hope in these trying times. We pray for the hearts of people to be moved with compassion to help those suffering. We ask that You would give those who are helping, wisdom and discernment in how to help and how to prevent future famines. We know that you are a wise God and you are able to do this. We ask for laborers to be sent who will help relieve those suffering and share the good news of the Kingdom of God. We ask that you would send revival to the hearts of men and bring them into a right relationship with you. We ask that you would empower your church to be a light and beacon of hope and refuge to those who are suffering.
Lord, we also pray for the leaders of the nations affected. We ask that You would give them wisdom and guidance as they make decisions that impact their countries. We pray that You would soften their hearts and turn them towards You, that they may seek Your will and Your ways.
We ask all of this in the name of Jesus Christ who paid for our sins, who gives us access to God and makes our prayers possible, and by whom all things were made and are possible. Amen.
We are so glad that we have a loving Father who promises to hear us when we call on Him. For Psalms 147:3 says "He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds." So we know He hears our prayers and is at work in the lives of those affected by famine.
Please also remember the words of Jesus in Matthew 25:35-40 WEB:
"For I was hungry, and you gave me food to eat. I was thirsty, and you gave me drink. I was a stranger, and you took me in. I was naked, and you clothed me. I was sick, and you visited me. I was in prison, and you came to me.'
"Then the righteous will answer him, saying, 'Lord, when did we see you hungry, and feed you; or thirsty, and give you a drink? When did we see you as a stranger, and take you in; or naked, and clothe you? When did we see you sick, or in prison, and come to you?'
"The King will answer them, 'Most certainly I tell you, because you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me.'"
As followers of Christ, it is our responsibility to care for the hungry. While we pray for God's intervention, let us also be the hands and feet of Jesus, providing aid and relief to those in need.
