Let us join together in prayer for the peace of Jerusalem, a city holy to us as Christians and precious to God's heart. The Psalmist says in Psalm 122:6 WEB, Pray for the peace of Jerusalem. They will prosper who love you.
Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, the King of Kings and Lord of Lords. We pray for the peace of Jerusalem, the city where You have placed Your name (2 Chronicles 6:6). We ask that You would grant them peace in the midst of turmoil, and comfort in the midst of strife.
We pray for the inhabitants of Jerusalem, that they would turn to You, the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. May they find their hope and salvation in Jesus Christ, the Prince of Peace (Isaiah 9:6). We pray that both Jews and Arabs would come to know Him as their Savior and Lord.
We pray for the leaders of Israel and the Palestinian territories, that You would guide them in the paths of righteousness and peace. Give them wisdom from above, that they may make decisions that promote justice and bring glory to Your name (James 3:17).
We pray for the Christian brothers and sisters living in the Holy Land, that they would be salt and light in the midst of darkness (Matthew 5:13-16). Strengthen them, Lord, and encourage them in their faith.
We pray for the enemies of Israel, that You would soften their hearts and turn them from violence (Proverbs 16:7). We ask that You would bring peace to the region, not as the world gives, but as only You can give (John 14:27).
We pray all these things in the name of Jesus Christ, the only mediator between God and man. It is in His name that we have access to You, Father, and it is by His stripes that we are healed (1 Timothy 2:5, 1 Peter 2:24). We thank You for hearing our prayer, and we ask that You would answer according to Your will and in Your timing.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
Be encouraged, knowing that our prayers are a sweet smelling savor to God, and that He hears the prayers of the righteous (Psalm 34:15, Revelation 5:8). Continue to pray for the peace of Jerusalem, and for all people to come to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ.
