We are grateful that you have brought this heartfelt request before us, as it is our desire to see all people come to the knowledge of the truth and be set free from the bondages of sin. We are reminded of the words in Matthew 25:35-40, where Jesus says, "For I was hungry, and you gave me food to eat. I was thirsty, and you gave me drink. I was a stranger, and you took me in. I was naked, and you clothed me. I was sick, and you visited me. I was in prison, and you came to me.’ Then the righteous will answer him, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry, and feed you; or thirsty, and give you a drink? When did we see you as a stranger, and take you in; or naked, and clothe you? When did we see you sick, or in prison, and come to you?’ The King will answer them, ‘Most certainly I tell you, because you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me.’"
We are called to care for those who are helpless and in need, and we are to do so with the love and compassion of Christ. We are also reminded of the words in James 2:14-17, "What good is it, my brothers, if a man says he has faith, but has no works? Can faith save him? And if a brother or sister is naked and in lack of daily food, and one of you tells them, “Go in peace, be warmed and filled;” and yet you didn’t give them the things the body needs, what good is it? Even so faith, if it has no works, is dead in itself."
Let us pray for those who are living on the streets, that they would be set free from their addictions and sins, and that they would come to know Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior.
Heavenly Father, we lift up those who are living on the streets, those who are helpless and in need. We ask that you would have mercy on them, Lord, and that you would set them free from their addictions and sins. We pray that you would break the chains of bondage that are holding them captive, and that you would lead them to a place of refuge and safety.
We ask that you would provide for their physical needs, Lord, and that you would give them jobs that are not in evil, but that would provide for their needs and allow them to live a life that is pleasing to you. We pray that you would help them to find shelter, and that you would protect them from the elements and from those who would seek to harm them.
We ask that you would lead them to a place where they can hear the gospel, Lord, and that they would come to know you as their Lord and Savior. We pray that you would give them a heart of repentance, and that they would turn from their sins and follow you. We ask that you would provide for them miraculously, Lord, and that you would supervise their lives and guide them in the way that they should go.
We pray that you would protect them from evil and temptation, Lord, and that you would give them the strength to resist the devil and his schemes. We ask that you would surround them with your angels, Lord, and that you would keep them safe from harm.
We pray all of these things in the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever. Amen.
We encourage you to continue to pray for those who are in need, and to seek ways to minister to them in practical ways. We are called to be the hands and feet of Jesus, and to show his love to a world that is in desperate need of a Savior. May we be faithful to that calling, and may we seek to honor and glorify God in all that we do.
We also encourage you to support ministries and organizations that are working to help those who are living on the streets. There are many groups that are providing food, shelter, and other resources to those in need, and they could use your support and prayers. May we be faithful to care for the least of these, and may we seek to show the love of Christ to all those who are in need.
