Prayer for the dating stage

Anonymous

Beloved of All
Hello everyone! Last week, I asked for a prayer here for my future partner, whom I've been praying for since I was 12 and am now 27. God allowed me to meet someone when I was working at a fashion event, and it was something very unexpected. I never thought he would be attracted to someone like me, especially after knowing that He is somewhat a known personality. We connected, and he asked me out, and we formed a bond I never thought I would feel after years of praying and waiting for someone. My only prayer is for God to confirm if this is finally it, or it's just another experience He is trying to teach me. I am always scared to get attached again after my previous relationship, that's why I always seek God's guidance when I am having a growing attraction and attachment to someone. I finally want to be sure this time through God's guidance and wisdom so I can avoid heartaches.

We are thrilled to join you in prayer as you navigate this new connection, and we commend you for seeking God's will in this situation. Remember, God's timing is perfect, and He has a plan and purpose for each of our lives within His will for us. It is encouraging to see you seeking God's guidance and wisdom from such a young age until now and we pray that you will continue to do so.

First, let us address the semantics of your request. Rather than a partner or a relationship, we should be praying and seeking a godly spouse for marriage since that is the biblical model for relationships that honor God. The Word of God instructs us to be equally yoked with fellow believers, and marriage should be the desired goal in the biblical model for this relationship.

Let's look at a few scriptures to guide you forward:
"Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers. For what fellowship has righteousness with iniquity? Or what communion has light with darkness?" 2 Corinthians 6:14 (WEB)

"Flee sexual immorality. Every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body." 1 Corinthians 6:18 (WEB)

"For this is the will of God: your sanctification, that you abstain from sexual immorality, that each one of you know how to possess himself of his own vessel in sanctification and honor," 1 Thessalonians 4:3-4 (WEB)

We must also consider the following:
"Do not enter the path of the wicked, and do not walk in the way of evil men. Avoid it, do not pass by it. Turn from it, and pass on." Proverbs 4:14-15 (WEB)

Please ensure that you are not being drawn in by celebrity or status. Instead, seek God's will and ensure that this person is a fellow believer walking in the faith. It is essential to confirm if this individual is indeed a Christian believer, as this is crucial for a God-honoring relationship.

We also need to remind you that it is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to God. It is important to pray in the name of Jesus Christ and that is the only way that we can approach the throne of God. And it is only through faith in Jesus Christ that we can be saved, so we must also pray that any relationship only exists between two believers.

Let us pray together:

Dear Heavenly Father,

We come before You, lifting up our sister in Christ who seeks Your will and wisdom in this new connection. We pray that You will reveal and confirm your will about this relationship to each person involved. Guide them in Your truth, and help them to trust in Your perfect plan and timing. Make it clear if this is a person you have called together for marriage. Help them to be cautious, abstain from sexual immorality, and be equally yoked.

Lord, we ask that You guard her heart and mind as she navigates this new bond. Heal any past hurts and replace fear with trust in You. Help her to be patient as this relationship continues to develop. Help both persons involved to be holy and seek godliness in this relationship. Help them to seek You before seeking any relationship. Give them discernment to know if this is a person You have chosen for them. Help them to seek a marriage relationship rather than any other relationship. Give them strength and endurance to follow Your word, even if that means fleeing from this relationship.

We pray this together in the precious name of Jesus Christ. May Your will be done in each of our lives, and may You be glorified in every situation. Amen.

May God grant you peace, wisdom, and discernment as you move forward. Keep your heart and mind focused on Him, and He will direct your paths.

We're right there with you, sister, as you navigate this new connection. It's encouraging to see your commitment to seeking God's will and wisdom, just as you've been doing since you were ###. We're here to support you in prayer.

We understand that meeting someone unexpectedly can be both exciting and overwhelming. It's like when we found that beautiful dress in the sale rack - we didn't expect it, but it was perfect! But remember, just like trying on that dress, we need to ensure it's a good fit, and that means checking if it aligns with God's will.

We've been praying for you, and we want to encourage you to continue trusting God's perfect timing. He knows the plans He has for you, plans to give you hope and a future (Jeremiah 29:11). So, let's ask Him to reveal His will about this relationship, and guide you both in His truth.

Let's also pray together:

"Dear Heavenly Father, we come before You today, lifting up our ###. We ask that You would reveal Your will about this relationship, and give her the discernment to know if this is someone You have chosen for her. Help her to be patient, to trust in Your perfect timing, and to seek You first in this relationship. Give her the strength to follow Your word, even if that means taking a step back. We pray this in Jesus' name. Amen."

Lord, we pray for this prayer and family for blessings healing and salvation. Heal and bless. May their lives be a praise and glory unto thee.
Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.
