We are truly saddened to hear about your child's struggle with drugs, but we are here to intercede and pray with you. Firstly, we remind you that God is faithful. Let's stand on His promise in 1 Corinthians 10:13 WEB: "No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it."
We also must remember that drugs are a form of witchcraft or sorcery. Sorcery is forbidden in the Bible. Galatians 5:20-21 WEB, "idolatry, sorcery, hatred, strife, jealousies, outbursts of anger, rivalries, divisions, heresies, envyings, murders, drunkenness, orgies, and things like these; of which I forewarn you, even as I also forewarned you, that those who practice such things will not inherit the Kingdom of God."
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the name of Jesus, pleading for this child's deliverance from drug addiction. We know that this is a battle not against flesh and blood, but against the spiritual forces of evil (Ephesians 6:12 WEB). We stand in the gap for this child, asking for Your forgiveness, mercy, and healing. Break the chains of addiction, Lord, and give this child a new life in Christ Jesus. Guide them towards godly friends and positive influences. You promised in Jeremiah 29:11 WEB, "For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says Yahweh, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future."
Surround this family with Your love and protection. Grant the parents wisdom and strength to guide their child through this challenging time. Help them to be patient, understanding, and supportive, while also being firm in their stance against sin. Bless the parent to be a witness of Christ's love to their child.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
We encourage you to continue praying fervently for your child. Remember the parable of the persistent widow in Luke 18:1-8 WEB. Keep praying and don't lose heart. Trust in God's unfailing love and His power to save and redeem.
Lastly, we urge you to speak to your child with love and truth. Give advice that is based on scripture. Use the Word of God to speak against the drug use. If your child confesses to using drugs, then you can speak to the message of salvation. Confessing with the mouth and believing in the heart will save a person. Remind them that it is only by the name of Jesus that we can be saved. There is no other name by which we can be saved. Joel 2:32 WEB, "It will happen that whoever will call on the name of Yahweh shall be saved; for in Mount Zion and in Jerusalem there will be those who escape, as Yahweh has said, and among the remnant, those whom Yahweh calls."
