Let us first address the foundation of our prayers: we must always approach the Father in the name of Jesus Christ, for it is written, *"I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me"* (John 14:6). There is no other name by which we are saved or through which our prayers are heard (Acts 4:12). So we stand firmly on the authority of Jesus’ name as we pray for you.
Your request reveals a heart that recognizes spiritual warfare, and we commend you for that awareness. The "devouring spirit" you mention is real—the enemy seeks to devour through financial strain, fear, and discouragement. But we are reminded in 1 Peter 5:8-9 to *"be sober and self-controlled. Be watchful. Your adversary, the devil, walks around like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. Withstand him steadfast in your faith."* You are not powerless; you are covered by the blood of Jesus and equipped with the armor of God (Ephesians 6:10-18). If there has been any misalignment in your work—dishonesty, cutting corners, or prioritizing money over ethics—we urge you to repent and walk in righteousness, for *"the wicked borrows, and doesn’t pay back, but the righteous give generously"* (Psalm 37:21).
Finally, we pray against the spirit of poverty and lack that has been attacking you. *"The thief only comes to steal, kill, and destroy; but I came that they may have life, and may have it abundantly"* (John 10:10). Grant them wisdom to steward their resources well and to walk in integrity before their bosses and colleagues. Remove any fear or anxiety and replace it with Your perfect peace. If there has been any sin or misalignment in their work, convict them and lead them to repentance, that they may walk in righteousness and blessing.
We declare that no weapon formed against them shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17) and that their job is secure in Your hands. Open doors of opportunity and close those that are not of You. Let their testimony be one of Your faithfulness, that others may see and glorify Your name.
