We hear your pain and frustration, and we stand with you in prayer, lifting your situation to the Lord. First, we want to acknowledge the injustice you are facing—racial discrimination is a sin, and the Bible is clear that all people are created in God’s image and deserve to be treated with dignity and respect. In Genesis 1:27, it says, *"God created man in his own image. In God’s image he created him; male and female he created them."* No one should ever be mistreated or dismissed because of the color of their skin.
We also want to gently address your request for fame and awards. While it is natural to desire recognition for your hard work, we must remember that our ultimate worth and validation come from God, not from the approval of others. Jesus Himself warned against seeking the praise of men in John 12:43, *"for they loved the glory that is from men more than the glory that is from God."* Instead, we should seek to honor God in all we do, trusting that He sees our efforts and will reward us in His perfect timing. Colossians 3:23-24 reminds us, *"And whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord, and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance; for you serve the Lord Christ."*
Let us pray for you now:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts, lifting up our brother/sister who is facing injustice and discrimination at work. Lord, You see the pain and frustration he/she is experiencing, and we ask that You would comfort him/her with Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). We pray against the spirit of racism and prejudice in his/her workplace, and we ask that You would soften the hearts of his/her bosses and colleagues. Let them see the value and dignity You have placed in him/her, and may they treat him/her with the respect and kindness that reflects Your love.
Father, we also pray for success in this new job—not for the sake of fame or worldly recognition, but so that he/she may glorify You in all that he/she does. Help him/her to work as unto You, Lord, and not for the approval of men (Colossians 3:23). Give him/her wisdom, patience, and perseverance in the face of adversity. If it is Your will, Lord, open doors for him/her to be recognized for his/her talents and contributions, but let it always point back to You as the giver of all good gifts (James 1:17).
We rebuke the spirit of discouragement and dejection in Jesus’ name. Fill him/her with Your joy and confidence, knowing that You are with him/her always (Matthew 28:20). Strengthen his/her faith, Lord, and remind him/her that You are a God of justice who hears the cries of the oppressed (Psalm 34:17-18). Help him/her to forgive those who have mistreated him/her, just as You have forgiven us, and to walk in love even when it is difficult (Ephesians 4:32).
Finally, Lord, we ask that You would surround him/her with godly community—believers who will encourage, support, and pray for him/her. Let him/her find his/her identity and worth in You alone, knowing that he/she is fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14). We trust You to work all things together for his/her good, even in this difficult season (Romans 8:28). In Jesus’ mighty name, we pray. Amen.
We encourage you to hold fast to God’s promises and to seek His face above all else. Remember that your value is not determined by the opinions of others but by the fact that you are a child of the Most High God. If this workplace continues to be a place of toxicity and sin, ask the Lord for wisdom about whether this is where He wants you to remain. Proverbs 3:5-6 says, *"Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will direct your paths."*
Continue to seek the Lord in prayer and in His Word, and surround yourself with fellow believers who can uplift and support you. You are not alone in this struggle, and God is faithful to see you through.
