Prayer for success and peace of mind

I have just started a new job but it is not going well and my new bosses and colleagues dismiss me because I am not white. I feel very dejected. Can you please pray for me that my relationship improves and people treat me with respect and dignity and I get a lot of fame at work and in my students. I get a lot of awards and recognition.

Thank you Heavenly Father for blessing us with another day, and for all you do for all of us. All glory and honor belongs to you Father. Please Heavenly Father bless this requestor with favor and success at her employment. I lift this prayer up on your glory Father God and ask that you grant your perfect will. In Jesus name I pray. Amen

“And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.”

‭‭Colossians‬ ‭3‬:‭17‬ ‭NIV

We hear your pain and frustration, and we stand with you in prayer, lifting your situation to the Lord. First, we want to acknowledge the injustice you are facing—racial discrimination is a sin, and the Bible is clear that all people are created in God’s image and deserve to be treated with dignity and respect. In Genesis 1:27, it says, *"God created man in his own image. In God’s image he created him; male and female he created them."* No one should ever be mistreated or dismissed because of the color of their skin.

We also want to gently address your request for fame and awards. While it is natural to desire recognition for your hard work, we must remember that our ultimate worth and validation come from God, not from the approval of others. Jesus Himself warned against seeking the praise of men in John 12:43, *"for they loved the glory that is from men more than the glory that is from God."* Instead, we should seek to honor God in all we do, trusting that He sees our efforts and will reward us in His perfect timing. Colossians 3:23-24 reminds us, *"And whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord, and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance; for you serve the Lord Christ."*

Let us pray for you now:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts, lifting up our brother/sister who is facing injustice and discrimination at work. Lord, You see the pain and frustration he/she is experiencing, and we ask that You would comfort him/her with Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). We pray against the spirit of racism and prejudice in his/her workplace, and we ask that You would soften the hearts of his/her bosses and colleagues. Let them see the value and dignity You have placed in him/her, and may they treat him/her with the respect and kindness that reflects Your love.

Father, we also pray for success in this new job—not for the sake of fame or worldly recognition, but so that he/she may glorify You in all that he/she does. Help him/her to work as unto You, Lord, and not for the approval of men (Colossians 3:23). Give him/her wisdom, patience, and perseverance in the face of adversity. If it is Your will, Lord, open doors for him/her to be recognized for his/her talents and contributions, but let it always point back to You as the giver of all good gifts (James 1:17).

We rebuke the spirit of discouragement and dejection in Jesus’ name. Fill him/her with Your joy and confidence, knowing that You are with him/her always (Matthew 28:20). Strengthen his/her faith, Lord, and remind him/her that You are a God of justice who hears the cries of the oppressed (Psalm 34:17-18). Help him/her to forgive those who have mistreated him/her, just as You have forgiven us, and to walk in love even when it is difficult (Ephesians 4:32).

Finally, Lord, we ask that You would surround him/her with godly community—believers who will encourage, support, and pray for him/her. Let him/her find his/her identity and worth in You alone, knowing that he/she is fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14). We trust You to work all things together for his/her good, even in this difficult season (Romans 8:28). In Jesus’ mighty name, we pray. Amen.

We encourage you to hold fast to God’s promises and to seek His face above all else. Remember that your value is not determined by the opinions of others but by the fact that you are a child of the Most High God. If this workplace continues to be a place of toxicity and sin, ask the Lord for wisdom about whether this is where He wants you to remain. Proverbs 3:5-6 says, *"Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will direct your paths."*

Continue to seek the Lord in prayer and in His Word, and surround yourself with fellow believers who can uplift and support you. You are not alone in this struggle, and God is faithful to see you through.

We're standing with you, dear friend, as you navigate this challenging situation at work. We understand the hurt and frustration you're feeling, and we want you to know that you're not alone. Let's lift your situation up to the Lord together.

First, we want to remind you of your worth in God's eyes. You are His beloved child, created in His image, and He sees the injustice you're facing. In Galatians 3:28, we read, "There is neither Jew nor Gentile, neither slave nor free, nor is there male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus." No one should be treated differently because of their race. Remember, your worth comes from God, not from the approval of others.

We also want to encourage you to keep your focus on serving God in your new job. As it says in Colossians 3:23-24, "Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving." Trust that God sees your efforts and will reward you in His perfect timing.

Let's pray together:

Dear Heavenly Father, we come to You today on behalf of our friend. Lord, we ask that You would comfort them in their time of pain and frustration. Help them to trust in You, knowing that You are a God of justice who hears their cries. Give them wisdom, patience, and perseverance in the face of adversity. Help them to forgive those who have mistreated them, just as You have forgiven us.

Lord, we also pray for success in their new job, not for fame or recognition, but so that they may glorify You in all that they do. Help them to work as unto You, Lord, and not for the approval of men. Give them joy and confidence, knowing that You are always with them.

Father, we ask that You would surround them with godly community – believers who will encourage, support, and pray for them. Help them to find their identity and worth in You alone, knowing that they are fearfully and wonderfully made.

In Jesus' mighty name, we pray. Amen.

Keep holding fast to God's promises, dear friend. Your value is not determined by the opinions of others, but by the fact that you are a child of the Most High God. Trust in Him, and He will direct your paths. You are not alone in this struggle, and God is faithful to see you through.
