Intercessory Prayer
Praying for others strengthens your love and brings God’s blessings to them and you.
A Tempted Saviour-Our Best Succour
Christ endures every temptation with us and strengthens us to overcome through His own suffering.
The Times We Live In
God calls you to bold action in this age, so step forward with unwavering faith and urgency.
We join you in lifting up these precious first grade students before the Lord and we thank God for the improvement you have already seen in them. We know how much you care for them and how heavy a diagnostic test can feel when they are so young and still building foundational skills. We are reminded that God sees not just a test score but the diligence, growth, and tender hearts of each child, and He delights in their learning.

We also notice your request does not mention the name of Jesus, and we want to gently share that it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father and it is only by His name that we are saved. Jesus said, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. John 14:6 and There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved. Acts 4:12. It is because Jesus died for our sins and rose again that we can come boldly to God in prayer, and we want to pray together with you in His precious name.

The Lord cares deeply for children and for wisdom and learning. If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him. James 1:5. For Yahweh gives wisdom. Out of his mouth comes knowledge and understanding. Proverbs 2:6. As for these four young men, God gave them knowledge and skill in all learning and wisdom. Daniel 1:17. We take comfort also in His promise, I will instruct you and teach you in the way which you shall go. I will counsel you with my eye on you. Psalm 32:8.

We pray together now in Jesus name.

Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ Your Son and we thank You for each of these first graders, including every child whose name was withheld for privacy but whom You know by name. You formed their minds and You love them more than we do. We ask You to awaken their brains and brighten their minds, to give them clarity, peace, and recall as they take their diagnostic testing. Calm any anxiety or fear and let them rest in Your peace which surpasses all understanding. Philippians 4:7. Help them to do their best and to show the growth that has already been taking place through their hard work and their teacher's faithfulness. For those who are struggling readers, we ask for Your special touch. Open their understanding, give them delight in reading, and provide wisdom to their teachers to reach each one so that no child is left behind. Let every student make growth, and let that growth be a testimony to Your goodness and to diligent effort. Whatever they do, may they work heartily, as for You and not for men. Colossians 3:23. We pray that whether the scores are high or modest, they would be encouraged and would continue to grow in knowledge and grace. We ask You to strengthen and encourage their teacher as well, to not grow weary in doing good, knowing the seed being planted will bear fruit. In Jesus name we pray, amen.

We encourage you to continue to speak life and confidence over these little ones, reminding them that their worth is not in a test but in being fearfully and wonderfully made and deeply loved by God. Keep celebrating the progress you see each day, pray with them simply before the test, and trust that God who began this good work will be faithful to continue it. He will give wisdom liberally to all who ask.

We can hear how much you love these first graders and how closely you have watched them grow. It makes sense this testing feels weighty, you know how hard they have worked and you also know they are just six and seven, still building the very skills the test asks for.

We join you in thanking God for the improvement you have already seen. That progress matters, even on days when a test does not fully show it. For the struggling readers especially, we are praying for patience and confidence to keep trying, and for you and their teachers to have wisdom to keep meeting each child right where they are.

A simple thing that often helps in a testing week is to keep the atmosphere calm around the test itself. A short word of encouragement beforehand, a good night's sleep, and reminding them their worth is not measured by a score can free their minds to do their best.

Father, we bring these first graders before You. Calm their hearts, clear their minds, and help them show what they have learned. Strengthen the struggling readers, encourage those who feel nervous, and guide their teachers with patience and insight. Let each child be seen and supported, and let their growth continue in the months ahead. We ask this in Jesus' name, amen.

We have heard your burden for these little ones in the first grade and we gladly join you in bringing them before the throne of grace.

It is a tender and right prayer you offer, for the Lord has ever shown Himself as one who teaches His children to go, as a father pitieth his children even so He pitieth them that fear Him, and He is patient with their many mistakes and slow steps. As you have asked, we pray that He who gives wisdom liberally will brighten their minds and quicken their understanding, that these struggling readers may be helped to see and to comprehend, and that each child may be granted diligence and clarity as they are tested.

We are reminded of the word of our Lord, Ask and it shall be given you, and we take encouragement there, for our heavenly Father will deny His children nothing that is for their good when they seek it in faith. Yet we would also lay upon your heart that other word, Children of God, be not anxious, be not tossed up and down by outward circumstances. The very anxiety which arises through being in a difficulty unfits us to meet that difficulty, but prayer fits the soul for its work and brings a present rest. Your labor in teaching and their labor in learning are not in vain when offered to Him.

Therefore let us pray together. O Lord, who art the Father of lights and the Giver of every good gift, look in mercy upon these first grade children. Thou hast made their minds and Thou canst awaken them. Grant to each one growth according to Thy will, help the struggling reader to find help, and let no child be overlooked or left without care. Give to their teachers patience and wisdom to instruct them as a mother teaches her children to walk, step by step. Take away fretfulness about success and grant that whether the test be easy or hard, these little ones and those who teach them may find rest in coming to Jesus and trusting His good hand. May their growth be not only in knowledge but in grace, that they may be made children of God by a second creation through faith in Christ. We ask this in the name of Jesus our Lord, who loves the little ones. Amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

We thank God for your love for these first grade students and we join you in bringing them before Him in prayer.

We ask the Lord who gives wisdom generously to all who ask to be near each child as they prepare for their diagnostic testing. May He calm any anxiety, give them peace and clear minds, and help them to do their best and to show the growth that is already taking place. We pray that their effort would be met with understanding, and that whether the test feels easy or hard, they would know they are valued and loved far beyond any score.

We lift up especially the struggling readers you mentioned. We pray that God would awaken their minds, brighten their understanding, and strengthen their ability to learn and remember. We ask that He would grant patience and wisdom to their teachers and to you, that every child would be seen, helped, and encouraged, and that each one would continue to grow in knowledge and in virtue step by step as God enables them.

We pray that this season would bear fruit not only in test results but in a lasting love for learning and for truth, and that these little ones would grow in confidence through the faithful care they receive. We entrust them to the Lord who cares for children and delights to help those who call on Him, and we ask all this in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
