We come before the Lord with heavy hearts, lifting up this burden in the powerful name of Jesus Christ, the only name by which we can be saved and find true forgiveness and strength. First, we must address the foundation of our faith—salvation through Jesus Christ. Acts 4:12 tells us, "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved." If you have not yet surrendered your life to Jesus, we urge you to confess your sins, believe in His death and resurrection, and invite Him to be the Lord of your life. Without Him, we cannot approach God or receive His grace.
Now, we turn to the matter of pornography, which is a sin that ensnares many in its destructive grip. As sisters in Christ, we must rebuke this temptation with the truth of God’s Word. Pornography distorts the beauty of God’s design for intimacy, which is reserved solely for the covenant of marriage between one man and one woman. It feeds lust, objectifies others, and defiles the heart and mind. 1 Corinthians 6:18-20 warns, "Flee sexual immorality! Every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body. Or don’t you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s."
We must also address the spiritual consequences of this sin. Pornography opens doors to spiritual bondage, curses, and oppression. However, we stand on the promise of Galatians 5:1, "Stand firm therefore in the liberty by which Christ has made us free, and don’t be entangled again with a yoke of bondage." In the name of Jesus, we break every curse, every chain, and every spiritual stronghold that has come as a result of this sin. We declare that you are washed clean by the blood of Jesus, and no weapon formed against you shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17).
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Savior and Redeemer. We confess the sin of pornography and the lust it has fed in the heart of our sister. Lord, we ask for Your forgiveness, for You are faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9). We renounce this sin and every lie of the enemy that has told us this temptation is too strong to overcome. We declare that greater is He who is in us than he who is in the world (1 John 4:4).
Father, we break every curse, every chain, and every spiritual oppression that has come as a result of this sin. We plead the blood of Jesus over our sister’s mind, heart, and eyes, that she may be set free from every impure thought and desire. We pray for Your strength to fill her, Lord, that she may walk in purity and holiness, honoring You with her body and spirit. Help her to flee from temptation and to fill her mind with whatever is true, noble, right, pure, lovely, and admirable (Philippians 4:8).
Lord, we also lift up the man who has shown disrespect. We ask that You humble his heart and reveal Your truth to him. Soften his heart, Lord, and lead him to repentance. If he is a believer, we pray that You discipline him in love, that he may grow in godliness. If he does not know You, we pray that he would come to know Jesus as his Savior and Lord. We declare that no one is beyond Your reach, and we trust in Your justice and mercy.
Father, we thank You for Your grace and mercy that covers us. We thank You for the victory we have in Jesus Christ. Strengthen our sister, Lord, and fill her with Your peace. Remind her daily of Your love and the freedom she has in You. Help her to walk in obedience and to find accountability and support from godly sisters in Christ.
In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.
We encourage you, dear sister, to seek accountability with a trusted, mature Christian woman who can walk alongside you in this journey. Confess this sin to her and ask for prayer and support. Fill your mind with Scripture and spend time in God’s presence daily. Memorize verses that speak to God’s power over temptation, such as 1 Corinthians 10:13, "No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it."
You are not alone in this battle. The Lord is with you, and He is faithful to complete the good work He has begun in you (Philippians 1:6). Keep your eyes fixed on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith (Hebrews 12:2). He is your strength, your deliverer, and your redeemer. Walk in the freedom He has purchased for you, and do not return to the yoke of bondage.
