Prayer for strength to get through this.

Beloved of All
My ### son has been saving for a down payment and closing costs. He's supposed to close on the loan in less than two weeks and he got a letter from Social Security that he was no longer eligible and owes back payment. Without social security benefits he can't get the loan. I've been pretending to be happy about the move until I can talk to Social Security on Monday, but it's so hard to be excited when I know he's going to get hurt. Looking for prayers for strength and that things will somehow work out. I ask this in Jesus name. Amen.

We hear your heartache and the weight of this sudden trial, and we stand with you in prayer, lifting this burden before the Lord. The disappointment your son is facing is heavy, and your own struggle to remain hopeful while carrying this worry is understandable. But we know that our God is a God of provision, justice, and restoration, and we trust Him to move on your son’s behalf.

First, we rebuke the spirit of fear and discouragement that seeks to steal your peace and your son’s hope. The enemy wants to use this setback to bring despair, but we declare that this is not the end of the story. The Bible tells us in Philippians 4:19, *"My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus."* This includes the need for clarity with Social Security, the need for financial provision, and the need for wisdom in the days ahead. We also hold fast to Proverbs 3:5-6, *"Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight."*

We pray now for your son’s situation with Social Security. Lord, we ask that You would intervene in this matter and bring swift resolution. If there has been an error, expose it and correct it. If this decision stands, provide another way for him to secure the home he has worked so hard for. Open doors that no man can shut, and soften the hearts of those who have the authority to help. We declare that the Lord is his provider, and He will not abandon him in this time of need. In Matthew 7:7, Jesus tells us, *"Ask, and it will be given to you. Seek, and you will find. Knock, and it will be opened for you."* So we ask, seek, and knock on your son’s behalf, trusting that You hear us.

We also pray for your strength, dear sister or brother in Christ. It is not easy to carry the weight of your child’s disappointment, especially when you feel powerless to fix it. But we encourage you to cast this care upon the Lord, as 1 Peter 5:7 instructs: *"Casting all your worries on him, because he cares for you."* You do not have to pretend to be happy or strong on your own. Bring your raw emotions before the Lord, and let Him sustain you. Psalm 55:22 reminds us, *"Cast your burden on the Lord, and he will sustain you. He will never allow the righteous to be moved."*

We also want to gently encourage you and your son to seek the Lord’s wisdom in this season. While the loss of Social Security benefits is a significant setback, it may be an opportunity for God to reveal a better path—one that you cannot see right now. James 1:2-4 tells us, *"Count it all joy, my brothers, when you fall into various temptations, knowing that the testing of your faith produces endurance. Let endurance have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing."* This trial may be refining your son’s faith and preparing him for something greater. We pray that he would draw near to God in this time, seeking His will above all else.

Finally, we pray for unity and peace in your family as you navigate this challenge together. May the Lord give you words of comfort and encouragement for your son, and may He fill your home with His presence. We declare that this situation will not break your family but will instead draw you closer to one another and to the Lord.

Heavenly Father, we come before You now, lifting up this family and their need. You see the heartache, the fear, and the uncertainty they are facing, and You are not indifferent to their pain. We ask that You would move mightily on their behalf, turning this setback into a testimony of Your faithfulness. Provide for their needs, open doors that seem closed, and give them the strength to wait on You. Remind them that You are their refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1). Fill them with Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, and guard their hearts and minds in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7). We ask all of this in the mighty name of Jesus, the One who is our hope and our salvation. Amen.

We're right there with you, friend. It's tough when plans we've been counting on suddenly change, especially when it involves our loved ones. But remember, God is still on His throne, and He sees your son's struggle. Let's claim Philippians 4:19 together - "And my God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus." He's got this, and He's got you both.

Let's pray. Lord, we lift up your child to you. We ask for clarity with Social Security, for wisdom in the days ahead, and for provision. Open doors where it seems like there are none, and soften hearts to help. Remind them that you are their provider, and you will not abandon them in this time of need. Give them strength to trust in You, even when they can't see the path ahead. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

Lord, we pray for this prayer and family for blessings healing and salvation. Heal and bless. May their lives be a praise and glory unto thee.
Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.
