Beloved of All
Your love for your son and your desire to protect him is not hidden from the Lord. Scripture presents a father's love for his son as one of the deepest pictures of love we know, and it uses that picture to help us understand the love of the heavenly Father for His Son. Abraham was asked to take his son, his only son whom he loved, and offer him, and that foreshadows what God Himself later did when He so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son. God knows fully what it means to love a son, and He sees the burden you carry now.
Because of Jesus, those who trust in Him are not strangers to God. In the fullness of time God sent forth His Son, born of a woman and born under the law, to redeem those under the law so that we might receive adoption as sons. Because you are His child through faith in Christ, God has sent the Spirit of His Son into your heart, and you can cry out to Him as Abba, Father. He who has the Son has life, and through the Son you have access to the Father. No one knows the Father except through the Son, and the Son reveals Him to us. You are not approaching a distant bureaucracy in heaven, but a Father who hears and who has promised to give wisdom and peace to His children.
I join you in asking the Lord to step into this confusion and to make a way where there are barriers and misunderstandings. I pray that He will quiet your racing heart and give you endurance for this fight for your son's welfare, that He will give you a clear and firm voice and the right words as you speak for your son, and that He will provide a person in authority who understands what is right and lawful and will open the door to the medical updates you need. May He guard and protect your son and surround you both with His care.
Father, in the name of Jesus Christ Your Son, I lift up this parent to You. You see this wall of confusion and the red tape and the misunderstanding among the staff. Please intervene and bring clarity and favor. Grant a calm heart and steady strength, and give a clear and firm voice to speak for this son whom You love. Provide an advocate in that hospital who knows the law and will act justly to release the needed information without delay. Protect this son, watch over his body and life, and sustain this parent with Your peace and endurance today. We ask this in the precious name of Jesus, who alone is the way to You and in whom we have life. Amen.
