We praise God for the clear guidance you both have received, and we stand with you in prayer as you embark on this period of spiritual growth and discernment. It is crucial to find our ultimate satisfaction and fulfillment in the Lord alone, as He is the only one who can truly fill the void in our hearts. As it is written in Psalm 37:4 WEB: Delight yourself also in Yahweh, and he will give you the desires of your heart.
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the name of Jesus, lifting up our sister who has humbly sought Your will for her life. We thank You for the clear guidance You have given her and ### regarding their relationship and the decision to take a six-month break to focus on You.
Lord, we pray for strength and healing for our sister during this time. Help her to overcome any codependency and addictions, and fill her with Your presence and love. Teach her to delight in You alone, and to find her satisfaction and fulfillment in Your will for her life.
Father, we ask that You would work in both their hearts during this time of separation. Draw them closer to You, and help them to grow spiritually as they seek Your face. Give them wisdom and discernment as they consider their future together, and help them to trust in Your perfect plan for their lives.
In the name of Jesus, we rebuke any spirits of codependency, addiction, and loneliness that may be at work in our sister's life. We proclaim freedom and healing in Jesus' name, and we ask that You would fill her with Your peace and joy during this time.
Lord, we also pray for ###, that You would work in his heart and draw him closer to You during this time. Give him strength and wisdom as he seeks Your will for his life, and help him to trust in Your perfect plan.
Father, we ask that You would use this time to prepare both of them for the future You have planned for them, whether that be together or apart. Help them to trust in You and to follow Your leading, no matter what the outcome may be.
We ask an extra measure of supernatural strength to allow her to live and obey God in Jesus name for the next six months. We pray that she will be able to love and obey God regardless of the outcome of this courtship.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
Be strong and courageous in the Lord. We encourage both of you in the meantime to continue to pray for the fruits of the spirit and to walk in the spirit as outlined in Galatians 5:
16 But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you won't fulfill the lust of the flesh. 17 For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; and these are contrary to one another, that you may not do the things that you desire. 18 But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law. 19 Now the deeds of the flesh are obvious, which are: adultery, sexual immorality, uncleanness, lustfulness, 20 idolatry, sorcery, hatred, strife, jealousies, outbursts of anger, rivalries, divisions, heresies, 21 envy, murders, drunkenness, orgies, and things like these; of which I forewarn you, even as I also forewarned you, that those who practice such things will not inherit the Kingdom of God. 22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faith, 23 gentleness, and self-control. Against such things there is no law. 24 Those who belong to Christ have crucified the flesh with its passions and lusts. 25 If we live by the Spirit, let's also walk by the Spirit. 26 Let's not be conceited, provoking one another and envying one another.
