Disciple of Prayer
Hello, I come here in need of God’s healing. I have lost 2 jobs this year. The 1st was I was fired in January and it was of my own fault after being there for over 1 yr, 2nd job I got this year in May then fired in August but I made sure I went above and beyond but after 3 months I was fired for making mistakes. I was approved for unemployment but I only have 2 payments left…. I have been applying to jobs like it is a job … spending my entire day applying every day. I have had a few interviews but have not landed anything. When I got hired in May I was offered 2 jobs working in healthcare. 1 was a clinic the other was a hospital, the clinic paid more so I went with them, after being fired I reapplied to the same position I was hired for at the hospital and was immediately denied, I even tried applying for other positions and was immediately denied. I am a mom (young adults) that live with me and they help when they can because they are trying to get on their own too. They have seen me struggle so many times. I don’t want me my kids to look at me as a joke. I have so many bills on my back, I have been late with my mortgage multiple times due to the inconsistency with having multiple jobs and losing multiple jobs. I have exhausted my resources for assistance. I want to work!!! I just need consistency!!! I will do my part but I have to make sure my job is there for me to show up and do my part. Please pray with me and for me. Lord, I come to you and I am begging you to please hear me. You have seen my many struggles with raising my kids, you know I have all these bills before me, I am paying what I can with the little unemployment I have. My car has been late multiple times and I’m not in a position to have it taken away since I need it to find a job. Lord you know there is no bus line where we live. Lord you know we have no other family outside of just me and the kids. Lord you see my efforts with applying to jobs all day, everyday. Lord God please my unemployment is running out and I only have 2 payments left. I can’t make these jobs I’m applying for hire me. They advertise they are hiring but all I can do is apply and nothing else. Lord please my credit was in good standing when I bought my house and it has suffered so much with me being inconsistent with being employed/unemployed repeatedly!!!! Please please please …. I take accountability and I know my responsibilities. Please Lord I am begging for their employers to see me, see my qualifications, see my efforts, my willingness, my drive, my persistence and take me seriously!!!!!! I find myself drinking alcohol on a regular to make myself feel better. Please Lord!!!!! I am not trying to become an alcoholic!!!!! Please God, I am forcing myself to refrain from drinking and to focus on praying. I am trying to be a great example/to my kids. It is really hard to keep a smiling face on the outside and act like things are going to be okay but worry and cry on the inside cause time is running out. I can’t apply just anywhere…. I have a lot of bills and even some creditors that are now trying to sue me for non-payment…. So I have to be making a certain amount of money. My last job paid me enough and I am trying to find that but I am not getting any responses. Please Lord hear my cry. In Jesus’ name I thank you. Amen.

We come before the Lord with you in this time of deep need, lifting your burdens to Him, for He is the God who provides, sustains, and restores. Your heart is heavy with the weight of instability, financial strain, and the fear of what lies ahead, but we serve a God who is greater than all these struggles. You have taken accountability for your past mistakes, and that is commendable, but now we must also surrender this season fully to the Lord, trusting in His timing and His plan for your life. You have cried out to Him in Jesus’ name, and that is where your hope lies—for there is no other name under heaven by which we are saved, and through which we can boldly approach the throne of grace (Acts 4:12, Hebrews 4:16).

First, we must address the temptation you are facing with alcohol. The Scriptures warn us clearly: *"Don’t you know that you are God’s temple, and that God’s Spirit lives in you? If anyone destroys God’s temple, God will destroy him; for God’s temple is holy, which you are"* (1 Corinthians 3:16-17). Turning to alcohol for comfort is a dangerous path that only numbs the pain temporarily while risking greater spiritual and physical harm. Instead, we urge you to turn wholly to the Lord, who is your true Comforter. *"Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest"* (Matthew 11:28). Lean on Him, not on anything that can enslave you. We praise you for recognizing this struggle and choosing prayer over self-medication—that is the first step in victory.

Now, let us speak truth into your situation. You have been diligent in seeking work, and that is honorable. However, we must remember that our trust cannot be in our own efforts alone, but in the Lord who directs our steps. Proverbs 16:3 tells us, *"Commit your deeds to Yahweh, and your plans shall succeed."* And again in Proverbs 3:5-6, *"Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight."* You have been applying for jobs with great persistence, but have you fully surrendered this process to the Lord? Have you asked Him to open the doors *He* wants for you, rather than the ones you think are best? Sometimes, what we perceive as the "better" opportunity (like choosing the clinic over the hospital) may not be His will. Let us pray that the Lord will guide you to the *right* job—the one He has prepared for you, where you will find stability and the ability to honor your commitments.

We also see the weight of your financial burdens—the late mortgage, the creditors, the fear of losing your car—and we know this is a heavy yoke. But Jesus tells us, *"Therefore I tell you, don’t be anxious for your life: what you will eat, or what you will drink; nor yet for your body, what you will wear... For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first God’s Kingdom and his righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well"* (Matthew 6:25, 32-33). This does not mean we sit idly by, but that we prioritize our trust in Him above all else. You have been faithful in paying what you can, and that is right. Now, trust that the Lord will provide a way where there seems to be none. He is the God who multiplied the widow’s oil (2 Kings 4:1-7) and fed thousands with a few loaves and fish (Matthew 14:13-21). He is not unaware of your needs.

To your children, you are not a joke—you are their mother, their provider, and their example of perseverance. They see your struggles, yes, but they also see your faith, your work ethic, and your love for them. Do not let shame or fear dictate your worth. Your worth is found in Christ, who calls you His own. *"Don’t be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness"* (Isaiah 41:10). Stand firm in this truth, and let your children see a mother who trusts in the Lord, even in the storm.

Now, let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we lift our sister before You, knowing that You are a God who sees her struggles, hears her cries, and collects her tears in a bottle (Psalm 56:8). Lord, she has come to You in the name of Jesus, and we thank You that she knows where her help comes from. Forgive her for any moments of doubt or fear, and strengthen her faith to trust in You completely.

Father, we ask for Your divine intervention in her job search. Open the doors that *You* have prepared for her—the doors that will bring stability, provision, and the ability to honor her financial commitments. Soften the hearts of employers to see her qualifications, her dedication, and her need. If there is any area where she needs to improve or grow, reveal it to her, and give her the wisdom and humility to receive it. Lord, if she has been applying to positions that are not Your will, redirect her steps. Let her find favor in the right place, at the right time, for the right role.

We rebuke the spirit of fear, anxiety, and despair that has tried to take hold of her. In the name of Jesus, we declare that she is *more than a conqueror* through Christ who loves her (Romans 8:37). Lord, provide for her mortgage, her car payment, and her daily needs. Stretch the little she has, just as You stretched the widow’s oil. Protect her from creditors who seek to harm her, and give her wisdom in how to navigate these financial challenges. Let her testimony be one of Your faithfulness, that her children and all who know her will see Your hand at work.

Father, we also pray for her children. Bless them as they support their mother, and give them peace as they see Your provision unfold. Let this season draw them closer to You, not farther away.

Lastly, Lord, we ask for deliverance from the temptation of alcohol. Fill the void in her heart with Your Spirit, that she may find comfort in You alone. Remind her that *"the joy of Yahweh is [her] strength"* (Nehemiah 8:10), not temporary escapes.

We thank You, Lord, for hearing our prayers. We trust in Your timing, Your goodness, and Your love. May Your will be done in her life, and may she walk in the confidence that You are her Provider, her Healer, and her Peace. In the mighty name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.

Stand firm, dear sister. Keep praying, keep applying, and keep trusting. The Lord has not forgotten you. *"The Lord is close to the brokenhearted. He saves those who are crushed in spirit"* (Psalm 34:18). Your breakthrough is coming. Wait for it, and while you wait, worship.

We're here with you, standing in the gap, lifting your burdens to the Lord. We've heard your cry, your struggle with unemployment, the weight of bills, and the fear of not being able to provide for your kids. We understand the frustration of applying day in and day out, with no response or interviews. We see your efforts, your persistence, and your willingness to do whatever it takes to find stability.

We want to encourage you, dear friend, to keep knocking on those doors. Remember, Jesus told us, "Keep on asking, and you will receive what you ask for. Keep on seeking, and you will find. Keep on knocking, and the door will be opened to you" (Matthew 7:7, NLT). Keep applying, keep seeking, and keep knocking. Your breakthrough is coming.

We also want to remind you that God sees you. He knows your needs, your struggles, and your fears. He is not unaware of your situation. In fact, He cares so much that He sent His Son, Jesus, to die on the cross for you. He is a God who is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18). Trust in Him, lean on Him, and rest in His love for you.

Let's pray together:

Dear Heavenly Father, we come before You today, lifting up our sister in need. Lord, we ask that You would open the right doors for her. Give her favor in the eyes of her employers, and let her find a job that is Your will for her life. A job that will provide for her and her family, and bring her the stability she so desperately needs.

Lord, we also ask that You would provide for her financially. Give her the ability to pay her bills, to keep her car, and to provide for her kids. We trust in Your goodness and Your faithfulness. You are a God who provides, and we know that You will not let her down.

Lord, we ask for Your protection over her and her family. Protect them from those who seek to harm them, and give them peace in the midst of their storm.

Lastly, Lord, we ask for Your strength. Give her the strength to keep going, to keep fighting, and to keep trusting in You. Remind her of Your love for her, and help her to rest in Your care.

In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
