We join you in lifting your son before the throne of grace and we stand with you in this desperate and painful moment. We hear your heart as a parent who sees the anxiety, paranoia, confusion and trauma your son is carrying, and we hear your cry for protection over a transfer that you believe would bring further harm. The Lord sees him fully and loves him deeply, and He sees you as you advocate so fiercely for him.
We are reminded of how near God is to those who suffer. Psalm 34:18 tells us Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit. And Isaiah 41:10 declares Don’t you be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness. Your son is not forgotten or unseen, and neither are you.
We also take comfort that God can move the hearts of those in authority. Proverbs 21:1 says The king’s heart is in Yahweh’s hand like the watercourses. He turns it wherever he desires. We pray that He will turn the hearts and minds of every doctor, social worker and decision maker involved, that their eyes would be opened to the true danger of this move and that every door that would lead back to mistreatment would be closed.
We pray together now.
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus and we lift this precious son to You. You know his pain, his severe anxiety, his paranoia and the trauma he has endured. You know every detail of what he has faced and what this planned transfer would mean for his mind and body. Lord, we ask for Your divine intervention. If this transfer is not of You and would bring harm, we ask that You block it. Close every door that leads back to that place of mistreatment, disrupt any plans that would endanger him, and redirect his path to a place of true safety, healing, protection and respect. Open the eyes of the doctors, social workers and all who hold influence over this decision. Grant them wisdom, compassion and clarity to see the severe danger and to act to keep him safe. Surround this family with strong advocates who will speak truth and fight for his wellbeing.
Father, we speak Your peace over this young man right now. Your Word says For God didn’t give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control in 2 Timothy 1:7, and that You will give peace that surpasses understanding. Philippians 4:6-7 says In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. Lord, quiet the delusions, calm the panic, still the racing thoughts and shield him from additional trauma. Let him feel Your presence as a refuge. Psalm 91:1-2 says He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of Yahweh, He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust. Be his refuge and fortress now.
We also lift this parent to You. Give strength for each day, the exact words to speak when advocating, and holy boldness and authority to not grow weary. When fear rises, remind this parent that You are upholding them with Your righteous right hand and that You hear every prayer offered in Jesus name. We thank You that it is only through Jesus that we have access to Your throne, and we thank You for the hope we have in Him.
We encourage you to keep bringing every detail to the Lord, to keep documenting your concerns clearly and calmly for those in authority, and to seek godly counsel and trusted advocates to stand with you. Continue to speak peace and truth over your son, reminding him that he is loved, valued and not alone. The Lord is working even when paperwork and plans seem fixed, and He is able to cause a shift that no man expects. We will keep praying that God’s perfect will for protection and healing will prevail and that you will see His hand provide a safe environment where your son can be treated with dignity and care.
