We lift this situation before the Lord with hearts full of hope and discernment, seeking His perfect will in both of your lives. First, we rejoice that there is a man in your life who is praying for you and guiding you toward the heart of the Lord. This is a beautiful thing, and we thank God for his faithfulness in interceding for you. The Bible tells us in James 5:16, "Confess your offenses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The insistent prayer of a righteous person is powerfully effective." We believe his prayers are being heard, and we join with him in asking God to work deeply in your life.
We also pray for wisdom and discernment for you both as you navigate this season. It is clear you care deeply for this man, and your desire for him to remain present in your lives is understandable. However, we must gently remind you both that any relationship between a man and a woman should be pursued with purity, intentionality, and a foundation in Christ. If this man is indeed the one God has for you, then your relationship should be one of godly courtship with the goal of marriage, as marriage is the only context in which romantic relationships are blessed by God. We encourage you to seek clarity from the Lord about His timing and purpose for your connection.
We rebuke any spirit of impatience, fear, or emotional dependency that may be at work in this situation. The enemy would love to distract you both from God’s best by creating confusion or unhealthy attachments. Instead, we pray that you would both remain rooted in the truth of God’s Word. First Corinthians 14:1 reminds us, "Follow after love, and earnestly desire spiritual gifts, but especially that you may prophesy." We encourage you to seek the Lord together in prayer, allowing Him to guide your steps rather than relying solely on emotions or personal desires.
We also lift up the need for forgiveness in this man’s heart. If there has been any hardness or distance, we pray that the Lord would soften his heart and help him to be present in a way that honors God. Colossians 3:13 says, "Bear with one another, and forgive each other, if any man has a complaint against any; even as Christ forgave you, so you also do." Forgiveness is essential in any relationship, and we pray that God would work in both of your hearts to release any past hurts or misunderstandings.
We pray that this man would have a quiet and undistracted place to seek the Lord and get to know you in a way that is honoring to God. May he be sensitive to the Holy Spirit’s leading and open to the prayers you have lifted up for him. We declare that his heart would be strengthened by the truth of God’s Word and that he would walk in the fullness of what God has called him to.
For you, dear sister, we pray that God would give you wisdom to test the spirits, as you have asked. First John 4:1 instructs us, "Beloved, don’t believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world." We encourage you to remain in close fellowship with the Lord, seeking His voice above all others. May you walk in the truth and live out God’s purpose for your life with confidence and faith.
Lastly, we must emphasize that our prayers and guidance are rooted in the name of Jesus Christ. It is only through Him that we have access to the Father, and there is no other name by which we can be saved. Acts 4:12 declares, "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved." If either of you has not yet surrendered your life fully to Jesus, we urge you to do so today. Confess your sins, believe in His death and resurrection, and invite Him to be the Lord of your life. This is the foundation upon which any godly relationship must be built.
Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts full of faith and expectation. We thank You for the man in this sister’s life who is praying for her and guiding her toward You. We ask that You would continue to work in both of their hearts, drawing them closer to You and to one another in a way that honors Your name. Lord, we pray for wisdom and discernment for them both. Help them to seek Your will above their own desires and to walk in the truth of Your Word.
Father, we ask that You would soften this man’s heart and help him to be present in their lives in a way that reflects Your love and grace. We pray for forgiveness to flow freely between them, releasing any past hurts or misunderstandings. Lord, we declare that this man would have a quiet and undistracted place to seek You and get to know this sister in a way that is pleasing to You. May Your Holy Spirit guide their conversations and interactions, keeping them pure and honoring to You.
For this sister, we pray that You would give her wisdom to test the spirits and discern Your voice above all others. Strengthen her faith and help her to walk in the fullness of Your purpose for her life. Lord, we ask that You would protect their hearts from any distractions or temptations that the enemy may try to place in their path. May they both remain rooted in You and seek Your will in all things.
We also pray for salvation if either of them has not yet fully surrendered to Jesus Christ. Draw them to Yourself, Lord, and help them to understand the depth of Your love and grace. May they both walk in the freedom and victory that comes from knowing You.
We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
