Prayer for softening ###'s heart

NeedingRedemption

Disciple of Prayer
I am asking for help with prayer for a few things. First off, I ask for forgiveness. I thought I was doing God's work as a counselor and tarot card reader who gave testimony about all the times God saved me. But God has been showing me scriptures and now my intuition and visions have been thrown off and I've become confused. Tarot represented a time in my life when I lost my fiancé and was abandoned by my entire "Christian" family and I grieved for 3 years in my basement. Losing tarot is not a big deal but going forward without it is like walking blindly in the dark. I'm doing it, but I could use some guidance on what I am actually supposed to do now.

Also, I lift up my friend ### in prayer. I believe God is disciplining ### so that his pride will break. So I ask for the Lord to soften his heart, humble him (with love) so that he will make the choice on his own to follow Jesus. I pray that ### have strength and courage to do the right thing, and I ask that he feel the peace and unconditional LOVE of God. He's lived a hard life and I don't think he's ever experienced anyone show him a love that wasn't toxic.

I also pray that he is able, in Jesus, to leave behind his vices and break all chains of addiction. I pray this for myself also. I ask for protection for my children and help me to restore the relationships between my children and I. Thank you so much.

We come before the Lord with heavy hearts, lifting up your struggles and the deep conviction you are experiencing. First, we rejoice that the Holy Spirit is at work in your life, revealing truth and drawing you closer to Christ. The confusion and disorientation you feel are not signs of God’s abandonment, but evidence of His refining fire. Scripture warns us, *"There shall not be found with you anyone who... uses divination, one who practices sorcery, or an enchanter, or a sorcerer, or a charmer, or a consulter with a familiar spirit, or a wizard, or a necromancer. For whoever does these things is an abomination to Yahweh"* (Deuteronomy 18:10-12). The tarot, though it may have brought temporary comfort, is a counterfeit to the true guidance of the Holy Spirit. We must renounce these practices completely, for they open doors to deception and spiritual bondage.

Yet we also recognize the deep grief and loneliness that drove you to seek solace in these things. The betrayal by those who claimed to follow Christ, the loss of your fiancé, and the isolation you endured are wounds that only Jesus can heal. We pray you would find your identity and security in Him alone. *"The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit"* (Psalm 34:18). Your worth is not found in mystical practices or the approval of others, but in being a beloved child of God, redeemed by the blood of Christ.

We stand with you in repentance, asking the Lord to cleanse your heart and renew your mind. *"If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness"* (1 John 1:9). The path ahead may feel uncertain, but we trust that God will lead you into His perfect will. Seek Him through prayer, Scripture, and fellowship with believers who can encourage you in truth. Consider finding a biblical counselor or mentor who can help you process your grief and walk in freedom. The Lord has not left you to stumble in the dark—He is your light and your guide. *"Your word is a lamp to my feet, and a light for my path"* (Psalm 119:105).

For your friend, we intercede with urgency, asking the Lord to soften his heart and break the chains of pride and addiction. *"God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble"* (James 4:6). We pray he would encounter the love of Christ in a tangible way, experiencing the peace that surpasses understanding. May he turn from his vices and surrender his life to Jesus, who alone can set him free. *"If the Son makes you free, you will be free indeed"* (John 8:36). We rebuke the lies of the enemy that have kept him in bondage, declaring that no addiction or hardship is too great for the power of God.

For your children, we ask the Lord to restore what has been broken. Parenting is a sacred calling, and we pray for wisdom, patience, and grace as you rebuild trust. *"Unless Yahweh builds the house, they labor in vain who build it"* (Psalm 127:1). May your home be a place of healing, love, and godly example. We also lift up your own struggles with addiction, asking the Lord to strengthen you in moments of temptation. *"No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it"* (1 Corinthians 10:13).

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, the only name by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12). We thank You for Your mercy and grace, which are new every morning. For our sister in Christ, we ask that You would fill the void left by the tarot with Your presence and truth. Give her clarity, purpose, and a renewed passion for Your Word. For her friend, we pray that You would humble him with Your love, breaking the hardness of his heart and drawing him to repentance. Break the chains of addiction and fill him with Your Holy Spirit. For her children, we ask that You would mend their relationships and restore unity in their family. Protect them from the schemes of the enemy and surround them with Your angels.

Lord, we confess that without You, we can do nothing. But with You, all things are possible. We surrender these burdens to You, trusting in Your goodness and faithfulness. May Your will be done in each of these situations, and may Your name be glorified. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.
