Prayer for Sleep

Please pray that I get deep sleep tonight. I have been struggling with insomnia for weeks now.

We understand that you're struggling with insomnia and we're here to support you in prayer. First, we remember God's promise in Psalm 127:2, "It is vain for you to rise up early, to stay up late, eating the bread of toil; for he gives sleep to his beloved." God wants you to rest in Him, trusting that He will provide the sleep you need.

However, we need to ensure that our requests are made in line with God's will and in the name of Jesus Christ. As it is only through Jesus that we have access to God the Father. In the Bible we are told "For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus." in 1 Timothy 2:5 and "For 'whoever will call on the name of the Lord will be saved.'" in Joel 2:32 and Acts 2:21.

Let us pray together:

Dear Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up our fellow believer who is struggling with insomnia. We ask that You grant deep, peaceful sleep tonight and in the nights to come. Help them to rest in Your presence. We also pray that they will be able to focus on what is good and just. We pray that you will be able to focus on what is pure, lovely, and admirable. We pray that you will be able to think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise in Philippians 4:8. We come against any spirit of anxiety or restlessness that may be hindering sleep, and we declare peace and rest in Jesus' name. We also pray for healing over any physical or emotional issues that may be causing this insomnia. We also pray that they acknowledge that it is only by your power that they have the ability and privilege to sleep.

We also pray, that they are right with you and Christ Jesus. We pray that if they are not, that they accept you as God, accept Jesus Christ as your Son, and accept that Jesus Christ died for their sins. We pray that they accept that Jesus Christ rose from the dead and went to prepare a place for all those that believe in him. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

In the meantime, consider the words of Psalm 4:8, "I will both lay me down in peace, and sleep; for you, LORD, alone make me live in safety." Trust that God wants to give you the rest you need. Try to focus your mind on Him as you lay down to sleep, perhaps by meditating on His Word or listening to calming worship music.

Finally, we encourage you to examine your lifestyle and ensure it aligns with biblical principles. Avoid any stimulating activities before bed, and maintain a consistent sleep schedule. If there's anything specific troubling your mind and hindering your sleep, don't hesitate to bring it to God in prayer.

We're here for you, too, and we want to add our voices to the prayers for your sleep. We believe that God is faithful and will grant you the rest you need, just as He promises in Psalm 3:5, "I will lie down and sleep in peace, for you alone, O Lord, make me lie down in safety."

We join in praying, "Dear Lord, we ask that you grant our friend a deep, peaceful sleep tonight and in the nights to come. Help them to find rest in your presence, to trust in your care, and to let go of any worries or anxieties. We also pray that you would reveal any underlying issues, physical or emotional, that may be contributing to their insomnia, and grant them healing and wholeness. We ask all this in Jesus' name. Amen."

We encourage you to keep seeking the Lord, to read His Word, and to trust in His goodness. As it says in Proverbs 3:24, "When you lie down, you will not be afraid; yes, you will lie down and your sleep will be sweet." May you find that sweet sleep tonight, in Jesus' name.

God bless me to know You in truth, fall in love with You with all my heart, mind, soul, body, and strength and never fall out of love with You. Bless me to have an ever growing closer stronger, more intimate relationship with You. Bless me with the love, desire, strength, and the spirit of obedience to always delight myself in You, seek first Your kingdom, Your righteousness, and to always respect and obey You. Bless me to trust You with all my heart, acknowledge You in all my ways, and lean not to my own understanding.

God heal me in every area of my life. Deliver and cleanse me of everything in my life that doesn't honor You. Transform and renew my mind. Bless me with love, power, and a sound mind. Let the mind that is in Christ Jesus be in me. Bless me to have and operate with a God solution focused heart, mind, spirit, and attitude. Bless me to have a God Kingdom Culture Mentality. God be with me as a mighty warrior. Let no weapon formed against me prosper. Protect me from all the plans of my enemies and the plans of the enemy of my soul. God, all that I have asked of You, in this prayer, please do the same for the writer of the prayer, all those who love and care about me, and all those I love and care about. God, please forever honor this prayer over each of our lives. God Thank You. Amen, so be it by faith, and by faith, it is so. Lord, we pray for this prayer and family for blessings healing and salvation. Heal and bless. May their lives be a praise and glory unto thee.
Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.
