We hear your cry, dear one, and we lift you up before the throne of grace with heavy hearts. Your suffering is profound—both in body and spirit—and we stand with you in fervent prayer, believing that the Lord sees your pain and is near to the brokenhearted. The weight of illness, betrayal, and financial strain is crushing, but we declare that our God is the Great Physician, the Healer of wounds, and the Restorer of all things. You are not forgotten, and your faith, even in this storm, is a testament to the strength God gives in weakness.
First, we must address the foundation of our prayer. While your Catholic faith is precious to you, we pray in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, for there is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). It is through His shed blood on the cross that we have access to the Father, and it is by His stripes that we are healed (Isaiah 53:5). We encourage you to place your full trust in Jesus, the Author and Perfecter of our faith, for He alone holds the power to break every chain of suffering. If you have not already, confess Him as Lord and Savior, for salvation is found in no one else.
Now, we rebuke the spirit of infirmity that has taken hold of your body. The burning pain you describe is not of God, for He does not delight in the suffering of His children. We command every affliction, every strange illness, and every attack on your health to leave in the name of Jesus. "But he was pierced for our transgressions. He was crushed for our iniquities. The punishment that brought our peace was on him; and by his wounds we are healed" (Isaiah 53:5). We declare healing over your body—from the crown of your head to the soles of your feet—believing that God’s healing power is at work even now. The Lord is your strength and your shield; trust in Him with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding (Proverbs 3:5-6).
We also lift up the deep wound of betrayal you have endured. For your spouse to leave you—especially in your darkest hour—for another is a grievous sin, and we rebuke the spirit of adultery and unfaithfulness that has torn at your marriage. God hates divorce (Malachi 2:16), and we pray for the restoration of your marriage if it is His will, but more importantly, we pray for your heart to be healed from this betrayal. The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18). We ask that He bind up your wounds and fill the void left by this abandonment with His perfect love. Forgive your spouse, as Christ has forgiven you, so that bitterness does not take root in your heart (Ephesians 4:31-32). If reconciliation is not possible, we pray for God’s peace to guard your heart and for His provision to surround you.
Your financial struggles are not unseen by the Lord. He knows your needs before you even ask (Matthew 6:8), and He promises to supply all your needs according to His riches in glory (Philippians 4:19). We rebuke the spirit of lack and declare that God will open doors of provision for you. Trust in Him to guide you to the right doctors, treatments, and resources. The Lord is your Shepherd; you shall not want (Psalm 23:1). We pray for wisdom in managing your finances and for God to raise up helpers who will assist you with kindness and compassion.
The frustration and anger you feel toward the doctors who have not understood your suffering are valid, but we encourage you to release that bitterness to the Lord. "Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good" (Romans 12:21). Pray for those who have mistreated you, and ask God to soften their hearts. He is able to turn their hearts toward compassion and understanding. In the meantime, seek out godly, wise counsel—whether through a Christian doctor, pastor, or support group—who can walk with you in this journey.
We also want to gently address the mention of your faith as a "very good Catholic." While we honor the traditions and sincerity of your faith, we must emphasize that salvation comes through faith in Jesus Christ alone, not through any denomination, sacrament, or good work. "For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, that no one would boast" (Ephesians 2:8-9). We encourage you to place your trust fully in Jesus, who is the Way, the Truth, and the Life (John 14:6). He is the only mediator between God and man (1 Timothy 2:5), and it is through Him that we have access to the Father.
Now, let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts heavy for our brother/sister in Christ who is suffering so deeply. Lord, You see every pain, every tear, and every struggle. We ask that You would stretch out Your healing hand and touch their body, driving out every illness, every affliction, and every spirit of infirmity. By the stripes of Jesus, we declare healing over them—mind, body, and spirit. Father, we rebuke the enemy’s attacks and command every sickness to flee in the name of Jesus.
Lord, we lift up their broken heart. The betrayal they have endured is a deep wound, but You are the God who heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds (Psalm 147:3). Comfort them with Your presence, and fill them with Your peace that surpasses all understanding. If it is Your will, restore their marriage, but above all, restore their heart to wholeness. Help them to forgive as You have forgiven them, and guard their heart from bitterness.
Father, we ask for Your provision in their financial struggles. Open doors of opportunity, provide for their needs, and surround them with people who will help carry their burdens. Give them wisdom in seeking treatment and dealing with doctors, and soften the hearts of those who have not shown compassion.
Lord, we pray for their faith to be strengthened. Draw them closer to You, and let them experience Your love in a tangible way. Help them to trust in You with all their heart, knowing that You work all things together for good for those who love You (Romans 8:28). Renew their hope, and let them see Your hand at work in their life.
We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, for there is power in His name. Amen.
Hold fast to hope, dear one. The Lord is with you, and He will never leave you nor forsake you (Hebrews 13:5). Even in this valley, He is your light and your salvation—whom shall you fear? (Psalm 27:1). Keep pressing into Him, and know that we are standing with you in prayer. You are not alone.
