Prayer for separation and freedom

Anonymous

Beloved of All
Please pray that God would get an evil family out of my life, the relatives of ### and ###. My grandparents worked with both of them and their families are very evil. Prayers for freedom and victory over them and to be free from their families and unclean spirits in Jesus’ name.

We hear your cry for deliverance and freedom, and we stand with you in fervent prayer, lifting this burden before the throne of grace. The Scriptures assure us that "the Lord is a refuge for the oppressed, a stronghold in times of trouble" (Psalm 9:9). We declare that no weapon formed against you shall prosper, and every tongue that rises against you in judgment, you shall condemn (Isaiah 54:17). The enemy may come in like a flood, but the Spirit of the Lord will lift up a standard against him (Isaiah 59:19).

First, we must address the spiritual battle at hand. The Bible warns us that "our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms" (Ephesians 6:12). While it is clear that these individuals and their families have brought pain and oppression into your life, we must remember that our fight is not ultimately against them, but against the spiritual forces that influence them. We rebuke every unclean spirit that has attached itself to this situation, and we command it to flee in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. "Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you" (James 4:7).

We also recognize the deep hurt and frustration that comes from generational pain. Your grandparents’ involvement with these families has undoubtedly left a lasting impact, but we declare that the cycle of bondage ends with you. The Lord promises, "The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind, to set the oppressed free" (Luke 4:18). You are not destined to walk in the footsteps of the past; you are called to walk in the freedom and victory that Christ has already won for you.

We pray that God would sever every ungodly soul tie and break every generational curse that has been passed down through these relationships. "Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us, for it is written, 'Cursed is everyone who is hanged on a tree'" (Galatians 3:13). We declare that you are redeemed, and no curse shall have power over you. The blood of Jesus has set you free, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom (2 Corinthians 3:17).

We also encourage you to examine your own heart and ensure that there is no unforgiveness, bitterness, or desire for revenge lingering within you. The Word of God commands us, "Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice. Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you" (Ephesians 4:31-32). Forgiveness does not mean what they did was right, nor does it mean you must reconcile with them. It means releasing them to God and trusting Him to be your defender and vindicator. "Do not take revenge, my dear friends, but leave room for God’s wrath, for it is written: 'It is mine to avenge; I will repay,' says the Lord" (Romans 12:19).

As we pray, we ask the Lord to surround you with His hedge of protection. "The Lord will keep you from all harm, he will watch over your life; the Lord will watch over your coming and going both now and forevermore" (Psalm 121:7-8). We pray that God would place a supernatural separation between you and these families, creating distance in the natural and severing every ungodly connection in the spirit. We declare that you are hidden in Christ, and no weapon formed against you shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17).

Father God, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the name that is above every name, the name by which we are saved and set free. We thank You that Your Word declares that "if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed" (John 8:36). We ask You to break every chain of oppression, generational bondage, and spiritual influence that has come through these families. We rebuke every unclean spirit and command it to leave in Jesus’ name. We pray for a supernatural separation between [] and these evil influences, that they would no longer have any access or authority in []'s life.

Lord, we ask You to heal every wound, every memory, and every place of pain that has been caused by these relationships. Pour out Your healing balm and restore what has been stolen. We declare that [] is a new creation in Christ; the old has gone, the new has come (2 Corinthians 5:17). We pray that You would fill [] with Your peace, Your joy, and Your presence, that they would know they are never alone. Surround [] with godly influences, with believers who will speak life and truth, and with opportunities to walk in the freedom You have provided.

We also ask You to work in the hearts of these families. While we do not pray for reconciliation unless You lead it, we do pray for their salvation. "The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance" (2 Peter 3:9). Soften their hearts, Lord, and open their eyes to the truth of Your Word. Let them see the error of their ways and turn to You.

Finally, Lord, we ask You to fill [] with a fresh revelation of Your love and Your power. Remind [] that You are a God who sees, a God who hears, and a God who acts on behalf of Your children. We declare that no evil plan shall succeed against [], and that You will turn every intended harm into a testimony of Your goodness. We thank You for the victory that is already won in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Stand firm in your faith, knowing that the battle belongs to the Lord. Put on the full armor of God daily (Ephesians 6:10-18), and walk in the authority that Christ has given you. You are not a victim; you are more than a conqueror through Him who loved you (Romans 8:37). Keep your eyes fixed on Jesus, the author and perfecter of your faith (Hebrews 12:2), and trust that He will lead you into complete freedom. If there are areas where you need to take action, such as setting boundaries, seeking godly counsel, or even legal protection, do not hesitate to do so. God often works through practical steps as well as supernatural intervention. You are not alone in this fight; we stand with you, and more importantly, the Lord of Hosts stands with you.

We hear you, and we are praying with you for the freedom you’re asking for. It’s deeply unsettling to feel that evil has attached itself to your life through family ties, especially when those roots run back for generations. But you are not alone, and you are not without hope. The weight of someone else’s sin does not have the final say over you.

One thing we’ve seen help in situations like this is to invite a few spiritually mature, trustworthy believers to stand with you in focused prayer. Together you can renounce any known entanglement, whether it’s lingering fear, unforgiveness, or anything that may have given the enemy a foothold, and then simply command unclean spirits to leave in Jesus’ name, not relying on a technique but on His authority. It’s also wise, as you walk away from these influences, to fill that new space with worship, Scripture, and healthy Christian community. Don’t try to fight this alone.

Lord Jesus, we ask You to break every ungodly tie that has bound this person to the evil that has come through these families. By Your authority we command any unclean spirit to leave now and never return. Bring a profound sense of Your peace and protection. Guard this one’s heart and mind, and let them walk in real freedom and victory from this day forward. Amen.

The cry for deliverance from the grip of wicked men and unclean spirits is one that rises often from the hearts of God’s afflicted children. You have named the enemy, relatives of those with whom your grandparents once laboured, now acting as instruments of malice. Know this: the Lord sees every snare, hears every whispered threat, and marks every tear. He is not indifferent to the oppression of His own.

True separation is not merely physical distance, but a heart and life severed from the dominion of darkness. As the clean beast chewed the cud and divided the hoof, so the believer must feed upon the Word and walk apart from the world. If these families are indeed vessels of evil, then your duty is clear, pray for grace to stand aloof from their influence, to refuse their fellowship in unrighteousness, and to commit the matter entirely into the hands of Him who judges righteously. Our warfare is not with flesh and blood, but with the spirits that drive men to hatred. Yet we do not fight alone. He who translated us out of the kingdom of darkness into the kingdom of His dear Son is able to break every chain.

Despise not the chastening of the Lord in this trial, for all our ills lie within the fence of omnipotent overruling. When deliverance tarries, it is not because His arm is shortened. Remember Pharaoh, he held Israel captive until the appointed moment, when the lamb was slain and the power of the oppressor shattered. So too, your full freedom may await a further revelation of the evil of sin and a deeper dependence on free grace. But be assured, the clock of mercy will strike. He who found a ransom for your soul will not leave you in the pit of these present sorrows.

Meanwhile, be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good. To retaliate with bitterness or to return reviling for reviling is to sink to the level of the reprobate and to open your spirit to fresh defilement. The liberty of the child of God is to walk in holiness without hindrance, not to taste the fleeting pleasures of revenge. Let your deliverance be so manifestly wrought by the Lord’s right hand that no atom of honour redounds to yourself, but all glory crowns the head of your Redeemer.

And when He brings you forth, as surely He will, let your song be heard among the righteous: “I shall not die, but live, and declare the works of the Lord.” In that day, you will magnify His choice favour toward the feeblest of His family, and your testimony will strengthen others who groan under similar burdens. Until then, watch and pray. Look to the Great Shepherd who keeps His sheep from the rending of the infernal lion. He will make your separation effectual, and in every deed He will bring you forth, with silver of enlarged knowledge and jewels of holy graces, that you may run in the statutes of the Lord and dwell in safety all your days.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

You speak of unclean spirits and an evil family, but understand that nothing is unclean of itself. It is not the mere presence of these people that defiles you, for to the Lord belongs the earth and its fullness, not to the devils. The pollution comes from within, from a weak soul and an evil will. If you are in Christ, His grace is sufficient to render your soul unstained and above all pollution, for the ruler of this world has nothing in Him, and therefore has no rightful hold on you if you abide in Him.

Do not be troubled or confounded by their provocations. Should they approach you as servants of that evil spirit, upbraiding you, do not answer in kind, but with meekness remember the words, "You shall not tempt the Lord your God." Your victory is not found in a fearful scrupulosity that makes everything seem unclean, nor in forcing a confrontation that only increases prejudice. It is found in a conscience at peace with God. An evil will is what is truly unclean, and their works testify against them. Do not let their malice infect your own heart with a quarrelsome or vengeful spirit, for this would be to partake with devils in a different way, making your own intention the source of uncleanness.

Pray not merely for separation in the flesh, but for the deliverance of your soul from the fear of them. For the ruler of this world is judged, and He will drive away all error and make all his arts useless. Freedom comes from believing on the Son and entrusting yourself to Him, not from being over-curious about the evil intentions of others. Let your life be your witness, for they profess one thing and deny it by their deeds, and for that they shall suffer a severer punishment. Your focus must be to give thanks to God, whose earth this is, and to walk in the freedom He has given, asking no question born of a defiled conscience. In this you will show that good does not come from their evil, but that God is righteous and the lover of mankind, whose grace is your true and unassailable victory.

God has never needed a whole army to win the battle. One woman, one man, one household clinging to His promise can see a whole entrenched force of darkness driven back. You are not alone, and you are not too small for this. The Lord can break the hold of any family line, any familiar spirit, any evil that has pressed in through old associations. Victory doesn’t depend on numbers or long human histories; it depends on the One who goes before you.

Evil is real. Scripture defines it as whatever tears down, destroys, and separates from God. When the Spirit of the Lord withdraws from a life, other spirits rush in to fill the void, and those spirits work to bring bondage. That is why what you describe feels so oppressive and so deeply rooted. But the first step toward freedom is to hate the evil itself, not the people caught in it. The fear of the Lord is to hate what He hates, while still longing that every soul be set free. So guard your heart against speaking evil of them or taking up judgment that belongs to God alone. Instead, turn the whole mess over to Him and ask Him to break the blinding influence of the enemy over that family, just as you ask for your own deliverance.

I urge you to examine your own life, not in dread, but in honesty. God’s commands are not fences to limit your joy; they are walls to keep out what will destroy you. If there is any place where you have tolerated evil, opened a door through bitterness, un-forgiveness, or compromise, bring it to the cross. That is not about guilt; it is about closing every access point the enemy might use. The moment you recognize you cannot free yourself, and you release it all completely into Jesus’ hands, you will discover a power that is not your own. His victory becomes yours.

Do not be surprised when the battle does not end in a single day. After a great breakthrough, self-confidence can creep in and whisper that now you know the process and can handle it yourself. That is the moment to press into dependence all over again. Keep your eyes on Christ. His Spirit within you is greater than any spirit at work around you. Stand with other believers who will agree with you in prayer, claiming His victory until you see those chains fall away. Faith is the victory that overcomes the world, and faith is simply taking God at His word and acting on it, even when nothing seems to change.

The evil that has been stacked up against you will not have the final word. God is patient, but He is also just. He knows how to deliver the godly out of temptation and to reserve the wicked for the day of judgment. Your part is not to orchestrate their punishment but to walk in the freedom Christ has already purchased for you. Let your prayer be this: “Lord, I cannot change what my grandparents experienced or what these families have become, but You can set me apart for Yourself. I hate the evil; I renounce every unholy tie. I ask You to separate me unto Yourself, to fill me with Your Spirit, and to give me such a deep, abiding victory that my very life becomes a testimony. If it be possible, let those relatives be awakened and turn from their evil way, but in all things, keep me in the shelter of Your will.”

Pray that way, and then rest in His care. You do not have to fight for freedom in your own strength. The battle is the Lord’s, and He has already overcome. Walk in that victory today, and tomorrow, and the next day, until what you have claimed by faith you hold in plain sight.

We are so grateful you entrusted us with your heavy burden and allowed us to stand beside you in prayer these past days. Your cry for separation and freedom from those who have brought darkness into your life has been lifted continually before the throne of grace. We have asked the Lord to sever every ungodly tie, to break every chain of manipulation, and to silence every lying tongue that has spoken against you. With one voice we have pleaded for the blood of Jesus to cleanse every generational wound and for the Holy Spirit to fill every space the enemy once occupied.

If the Lord has already moved in power—if you sense new boundaries forming, if old voices no longer reach you, if peace has begun to replace turmoil—we humbly ask you to share a praise report so we can rejoice together in God’s faithfulness. If, however, the battle still rages and the weight of oppression lingers, we invite you to post your request again. We will not grow weary; we will continue to intercede, to bind the strong man, and to declare your freedom in Jesus’ Name until every unclean spirit flees and every evil influence is removed.

May the Father strengthen your heart with His truth, may the Son cover you with His righteousness, and may the Holy Spirit shield you with His peace as you press forward in faith. We stand with you, believing that the same God who parted the Red Sea can part the darkness in your life and lead you into the light of His perfect will. We pray all these things in the mighty Name of Jesus. Amen.
