We join with you in agreement for the salvation of ### and we thank you for your burden for his soul and for your faith that with God all things are possible. We stand with you before the Father in the name of Jesus asking for His mercy and saving grace to reach this man who now calls himself an Atheist.
The Scripture tells us that the heart that denies God is not without hope because God is able to open blind eyes and soften a hard heart. It is written that the god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelieving, that the light of the Good News of the glory of Christ should not dawn on them 2 Corinthians 4:4, yet we also know that Jesus said With men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible Matthew 19:26. The Lord is not slow concerning his promise, as some count slowness, but is patient with us, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance 2 Peter 3:9, and He desires all people to be saved and come to full knowledge of the truth 1 Timothy 2:4.
We know that it is only through Jesus that ### can be saved, for Jesus said I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me John 14:6 and there is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved Acts 4:12. If he will confess with his mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in his heart that God raised him from the dead, he will be saved Romans 10:9. Our prayer is that God will grant him repentance and faith, that He will give him a new heart and put a new spirit within him Ezekiel 36:26 and that he will hear and believe, for faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of Christ Romans 10:17.
We pray together for him now. Father God, in the name of Jesus Christ Your Son, we lift up ### before Your throne of grace. You know his heart, his doubts, and the aggression he shows when Your name is spoken. We ask You to have mercy on him and to draw him to Yourself, for no one can come to Jesus unless the Father draws him. Remove the veil from his eyes, soften his heart, and reveal to him that You are real and that You love him and gave Your Son to die for his sins and to rise again for his justification. Convict him by Your Holy Spirit of sin and of righteousness and of judgment, and grant him the gift of repentance that leads to life. Surround him with Your love and place people and circumstances in his path that will point him to the truth. Give him a hunger for truth that will not be satisfied until he finds it in Jesus. We ask this in the mighty name of Jesus, believing that You are able to save to the uttermost. Amen.
We encourage you to continue to pray faithfully for ### and to show him the love of Christ not only with words but with your life. When he becomes aggressive, do not argue but respond with gentleness and respect, as it is written Sanctify the Lord God in your hearts, and always be ready to give an answer to everyone who asks you a reason concerning the hope that is in you, with humility and fear 1 Peter 3:15 and A servant of the Lord must not quarrel, but be gentle towards all, able to teach, patient, in gentleness correcting those who oppose him, if perhaps God may give them repentance leading to a full knowledge of the truth 2 Timothy 2:24-25. Let your speech always be with grace, seasoned with salt Colossians 4:6, so that he may see Christ in you even when he resists His name. Continue to speak the name of Jesus when the Holy Spirit gives opportunity, for that name alone has power to save, and trust that God is working even when you do not see it.
