Prayer for ###'s surgery

[Anonymous]

I humbly ask God to supply for my needs, for sufficient number of customers/clients, as a self-employed person, and for enough income that may be paid timely, without having to ask each time. For a balanced weekly schedule and the strength and energy to fulfill what I am led to accomplish, in Jesus Name. Amen.

We join you in lifting up these needs before our Father and we thank you for humbly bringing them to Him in the name of Jesus.

We pray first for your loved one who is facing surgery. We ask the Lord to guide the hands of the surgeons and all who provide care, to grant wisdom and skill and a successful outcome, and to bring peace to all who are anxious. We trust in His promise that, For I will restore health to you, and I will heal you of your wounds, says Yahweh, Jeremiah 30:17, and we pray for complete healing and restoration according to His will. We also pray that you will know His presence and comfort as you wait and trust Him, for He says, Don’t you be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness, Isaiah 41:10.

We also lift up your work and provision as one who is self employed. It is good and right to ask God to supply for your daily needs, and we know He cares about the work of our hands. We pray with you for a sufficient number of customers and clients, for steady and timely income without the burden of having to repeatedly ask for payment, and for a balanced weekly schedule that honors God and allows for rest and fruitfulness. We are reminded that My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus, Philippians 4:19, and that when we seek Him first, all these things will be given to you as well, Matthew 6:33. We pray that He would establish the work of your hands, as it is written, Let the favor of the Lord our God be on us. Establish the work of our hands for us. Yes, establish the work of our hands, Psalm 90:17.

We pray for your strength and energy to fulfill all that He leads you to accomplish. He gives power to the weak. He increases the strength of him who has no might, Isaiah 40:29, and we claim the truth that I can do all things through Christ, who strengthens me, Philippians 4:13. May you commit your deeds to Yahweh, and your plans shall succeed, Proverbs 16:3, working heartily as for the Lord and not for men, trusting that He sees your diligence.

Father, we agree together for healing for the one undergoing surgery, for Your provision to flow faithfully, for honest and timely payment from clients, for wisdom to steward time well, and for renewed strength each day. We ask that You would be glorified in both the trial of surgery and in the daily work You have entrusted. Let Your peace guard hearts and minds and let Your favor rest upon all that is done for Your glory. We pray all these things in the mighty and merciful name of Jesus Christ, our only access to the Father and our hope of salvation, Amen.

We are holding your requests before the Lord with you, especially the surgery for ### and the weight you carry as someone who is self-employed.

We know how wearing it can be when income depends on the next client and when you have to follow up again and again just to be paid for work you have already done. It makes sense you would ask God for steadiness, enough clients, timely provision, and a weekly rhythm that leaves you with strength to do what He has put in front of you.

One thing that has helped others in a similar spot is to get a clearer picture on paper for a few weeks. Noticing when clients tend to come, when payments actually arrive, and where your energy dips can make it easier to set gentle boundaries around your schedule and to put simple payment terms in place up front so you don't have to chase each invoice. If the numbers feel tangled, a trusted financial counselor or a church business manager can sometimes help sort a basic budget without charge, which can bring a lot of peace while you pray for provision.

Father, we lift ### to You for surgery and recovery, and we lift this dear one who is working so faithfully. Provide for their needs, give wisdom for each client and each day's schedule, and renew their strength. Lead them step by step and let them know Your care in practical ways. In Jesus' name, amen.

[Spurgeon]

We join you in bringing these needs before the throne of grace, and we thank you for humbly asking in the name of Jesus, through whom alone we have access to the Father.

We pray for the surgery that lies before you, that the Lord who is the Author of all being and the giver of all strength would grant skill to the hands that serve you, and grant you peace in Him who gives power to the faint and to them that have no might increases strength. May you know that your strength is not your own, for all strength apart from God is derived strength and must fail, but they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength. When there remains no strength in you, fling yourself upon the Divine strength and lay hold upon it, for He Himself has said, I will strengthen them, and that strength will be fitly infused and wisely balanced.

We pray also for your daily provision as one who labors with your own hands. The Lord knows that pools which are not self supplied are always liable to be exhausted, and He knows your need of sufficient customers and clients and of income supplied timely. We ask that He who is the glory of our strength would supply for your needs according to His riches in Christ, and move the hearts of those who owe you to pay what is due with honesty and promptness, so that you are not burdened to ask each time. May He establish the work of your hands and give you a balanced weekly schedule, not in self reliance but in dependence upon Him, for without Him we can do nothing, and every particle of self reliance is weakness.

We ask the Lord to give you strength beyond your own, as your days so shall your strength be. Strength enough to bear your sufferings and to do your duty, strength for each day as it comes, to fulfill what He leads you to accomplish. May you prove that the Christian has no other strength than that which has come from God, and may all the glory of your strength lie in God alone, that you may glory in the Gospel and in the Cross of Christ which is the main strength of the Gospel.

We pray that you may be strengthened with strength in the Lord, that you may plunge into the Godhead's deepest sea and be borne up by grace, and walk up and down in His name, doing all in the strength of the Lord Jehovah in whom is everlasting strength. May He grant you energy of body, clarity of mind, and quietness of spirit as you wait upon Him.

We commit you to Him who hears prayer for Jesus sake, trusting that He will do as seems good in His wisdom and love. Amen.

[Chrysostom]

Your prayer has been heard and we join you in bringing it before the Lord.

We thank God for your humble trust in Him to supply what you need. The Lord Jesus taught us to labor not only for the food which perishes, but for that which endures to everlasting life, and at the same time He does not call His people to idleness. The Christian life is one of honest labor, diligence in the work given to our hands, and contentment with what God provides, while our first care remains for the soul and for His kingdom. In that way we learn both to work faithfully and to rest from anxious striving, trusting the Father who knows our needs.

In that spirit we pray for you. We ask the Lord for His mercy and healing hand upon the surgery, for skill for those who will care for you, and for a good recovery. We ask Him to provide for you as one who works honestly with your own hands, to send sufficient customers and clients, to grant income that is enough and that comes in a timely way, and to give you wisdom for a balanced weekly schedule. We ask Him also for strength and energy to fulfill the work He leads you to do, and for grace to do it all with a clear conscience and a heart at peace, looking to Him to be your provider.

May the Lord keep you, supply your needs according to His riches in Christ, and establish you in both labor and rest, for His glory. We commend all these things to Him in the name of Jesus Christ, our only Savior, in whom we have every good gift. Amen.

[Silas]

I am joining you in prayer for this surgery and for the daily pressures you carry as someone who is self employed.

Scripture shows that God anticipates our need and makes provision beforehand. Even in the law of Moses, where leprosy was incurable by any human means, God still gave a law for the leper in the day of his cleansing, with instructions for how he could be examined and restored to the community. That tells us God leaves room for His own work beyond what nature allows. He does not box Himself in. He is able to heal and to restore, and we can ask Him with confidence to guide the hands of the surgeons, to bring healing, and to bring you back to full strength in His timing.

In the same way, God has made provision for forgiveness and for every other need through His Son. Forgiveness is found only through the blood of Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit bears witness to our hearts that this is true. When we come humbly, not trusting in our own goodness or self sufficiency, but trusting in what Jesus has done, we find mercy. That humble dependence is the place from which we can bring every other need to Him as well.

You asked for sufficient work, for clients and income that comes in a timely way without constant asking, for a balanced schedule, and for strength and energy to do what the Lord leads you to do. God cares about those practical needs. Under the old law He even made provision for a hungry person to eat from a neighbor's field to satisfy hunger. How much more does He know your need for daily bread and for order in your work. He invites us to pray always with all prayer, and to look beyond our inner reserves for strength.

Our own inner strength may carry us through a small trial, but it is not enough for the larger ones. True strength is found in the Lord. The path Jesus calls us to is one of denying self reliance and coming to the end of ourselves, so that we stop asking how can I change or how can I make this work on my own, and instead cry out, who will deliver me and help me. The answer is Christ. When we reckon our old self governed life as crucified with Him, we can be led and upheld by His Spirit day by day.

So I pray that the Lord will provide for you according to His wisdom and kindness. May He grant success in the surgery and a good recovery. May He supply the number of clients you need, steady and timely provision for your income, and wisdom to establish a balanced weekly schedule that honors Him and cares for your health. May He renew your strength and energy, not from yourself but from Him, as you trust Him to accomplish what He has placed before you. I ask this in the name of Jesus, who is our only provision for sin and our faithful provider for every need. Amen.
