Prayer for ###'s surgery

Anonymous

Beloved of All
Brothers, Sisters, Friends,

It's hard to bring this before you and Jesus, although I have been bringing it to Jesus and God in despair for a long time and no answer and even trying to just transcend and think of Our Lord and The Father isn't working.
There's a person who harmed me badly and has been doing things he shouldn't with a number of people, he's a property tycoon, powerfully connected and boastful, I got away from him on my second attempt and he came after me praising himself for his 'kindness' to me and making me out to be mad, offering to put me in an institution.
He's been collecting not just vulnerable people, who he uses for dishonest property transactions - he tried to do this with me, but also recruiting from another group, and I can't post that on here but he abuses power and position and does what he likes.
It's a few years since I escaped him, traumatised and street homeless, the only one to actually get away because money and coercion don't hold me, no matter how disabled, autistic, vulnerable I am, I have survived a lot of bad things and it's taught me to think and to get away from bad situations.
But he's been showing off in the press all year, he's found a 'cause' that no one can stop him using for his own publicity and vanity.
All year I've had to endure seeing this, I stopped looking at local press and media to stop seeing him, cutting me off from the community I love, even though I'm very isolated by autism and disability and being a survivor.
I was forced to give up work, and yet he's still doing it, even today and even avoiding the media, it's got to me, and it's real, not a delusion, in case you're wondering, he's always, since long before me, shown off publicly, but he's got an incessant gravy train cause now,
Pray for strength for me, for me to go on with my own life and forget the injustice, I cannot help worry for the others he's used and is using and their hurt, because in the past and as a child I had to defend lives and it is hardwired in me.
God and Jesus have never given justice to me for anything yet and my prayers about him are unanswered, but most of all, I want to go on with my life and not see him, not think about him, and I want to get on with life. Each time I speak up to any regulator or the law enforcement, he's powerful, I'm vulnerable, nothing comes of it, but I fear I'll be in trouble for speaking up. I ask for you to pray in Jesus' Name for protection for me and to be able to move on and forget it as I can do nothing about it, there has never, will never, be justice in my life, I have no voice, can't speak, can't write what's happened, no one hears.

We have read your heart cry and we thank you for trusting us with such painful and heavy things. We grieve with you over the harm you endured, over the years of trauma and street homelessness, over the isolation that autism and disability and being a survivor can bring, and over the deep ache of seeing one who harmed you continue to boast and display himself publicly while you feel voiceless and unheard. We want you to know that God sees you, He has not forgotten you, and your prayers have not been wasted. You are fearfully and wonderfully made in His image Psalm 139:14, and He is close to those who are brokenhearted Psalm 34:18.

We understand why you feel that God and Jesus have never given you justice and that your prayers about this man are unanswered. When the powerful seem to prosper and the vulnerable seem to be ignored, despair can settle in. Yet Scripture tells us that God does hear the desire of the humble and He will hear and do justice for the fatherless and the oppressed Psalm 10:17-18. He is a refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble Psalm 46:1, and He heals the broken in heart and binds up their wounds Psalm 147:3. The Lord has said vengeance belongs to Me, I will repay Romans 12:19, and His justice is perfect for all His ways are just Deuteronomy 32:4. That justice may not come on our timetable, and we may not see it fully in this life, but it is certain. To say there has never and will never be justice is a lie that suffering whispers to us, and we gently correct it with truth. God will not be mocked, He opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble James 4:6, and pride goes before destruction Proverbs 16:18. The boasting and using of vulnerable people for dishonest gain and self promotion is evil in His sight, and He will judge it.

We also hear your exhaustion and your desire to simply go on with your life and not be tormented by seeing this man and thinking about him and worrying for others he may be using. Your compassion for others, even after what you suffered as a child and since, reflects a heart that God has shaped to care for life, yet we encourage you to cast all your worries on Him, because He cares for you 1 Peter 5:7. It is not wrong to feel anger and grief over injustice, but God does not want you to be consumed by it. We pray for the peace of God which surpasses all understanding to guard your heart and mind in Christ Jesus Philippians 4:7, and we pray that you will find rest as Jesus invites, Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest Matthew 11:28. Trying to transcend or to push thoughts away by your own strength will not bring that rest, but abiding in Him day by day will. Jesus taught us that we ought always to pray and not to lose heart Luke 18:1, even when answers seem delayed, because our Father hears.

We hear your fear about speaking up to regulators or law enforcement, feeling vulnerable while he is powerful, and fearing trouble for telling the truth. God understands that fear, and we pray for wisdom and protection for you. He promises fear not, for I am with you, be not dismayed, for I am your God, I will strengthen you, yes, I will help you, yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of My righteousness Isaiah 41:10. We encourage you to prioritize your safety and healing, to stay connected where you can to a safe local church or trusted believers who can walk with you in person, and to seek trauma informed care that respects your needs as an autistic and disabled survivor. You do not have to carry the burden of rescuing everyone he may be harming. You have done what you could by getting away and by speaking when you were able. Now we entrust those others to the Lord who sees all, and we ask Him to expose what is done in darkness and to protect the vulnerable.

We also note the title concerning surgery and we bring any need for physical healing and surgery before the Lord as well, asking for His mercy and skilled hands for those who care for you.

We pray together now in Jesus name, for it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father John 14:6 and there is no other name by which we are saved Acts 4:12, and we thank you that you asked in Jesus Name.

We pray Father in the name of Jesus Christ that You would wrap Your arms around this dear one who has survived so much and feels so alone and weary. Lord, You see the injustice and the boasting and the exploitation that has been done, and You see every tear and every night of homelessness and every moment of fear. We ask You to be their refuge and hiding place, to protect them from retaliation and from fear, to give them strength for each day, and to heal the deep wounds of trauma in Your tender way. Grant them sleep that is peaceful, thoughts that are guarded by Your peace, and a renewed ability to engage with the community they love in safe ways without being tormented by the sight of this man. Help them to release the burden of vengeance into Your just hands and to find freedom to go on with the life You have for them. We ask You to bring comfort where there has been despair, to show them that their voice is heard by You even when others do not listen, and to surround them with faithful, gentle people who will believe and support them. We pray for any surgery or physical need to be met with Your healing power and with wisdom for doctors. We pray for conviction and repentance for the one who has done harm, and that You would stop his harm to others and bring to light what needs to be brought to light according to Your will. We ask all this in the mighty and merciful name of Jesus Christ, our hope and our justice, Amen.

We encourage you to keep bringing everything to Jesus honestly, even the despair and the feeling that He is not answering, for He can handle your honest prayers. Keep His Word near you, even a single verse a day, and let Him remind you that you are not forgotten. We are continuing to pray for your protection, your peace, and your ability to move forward in the life God has for you.

We hear how exhausting this has been for you, and how much courage it took to get away a second time and stay away. To have survived so much, to be navigating life with autism and disability and still think clearly enough to leave a coercive situation, that shows real strength, even if you feel worn down and isolated right now.

It makes sense that seeing this man praised in the press would feel so intrusive, especially when you have already stepped back from local media to protect yourself and that has cut you off from community you care about. Wanting to move forward with your own life, and also carrying worry for others who may still be vulnerable, is a heavy tension to hold. You are not imagining this, and wanting peace and distance is a good and understandable desire.

One thing that has helped others in long, hard seasons like this is not trying to carry it alone. Resilience is not something we either have or don't have, it grows through steady, supportive relationships. If you have one safe person, a pastor, support worker, or trusted advocate who understands both trauma and autism, staying connected with them even briefly and regularly can help you keep a foothold in community without having to face the press or public attention.

We are praying for you and will keep praying.

Father, we lift our friend to You in Jesus' name. You see what has happened and what still feels so heavy. We ask for Your protection over them, for safety and quiet, for strength for each day, and for wisdom to know how to step toward healing and toward the life You have for them. Give them trusted people nearby and rest from intrusive thoughts and images. Lead them gently forward. Amen.

The sorrow you have laid bare before the Lord is not hidden from Him, though it has felt hidden from men. To have been harmed and used, to have escaped with your life and yet to carry the wound of it, to be made to feel that power and money can silence the vulnerable while boasting goes on in the public eye, this is a bitter affliction. And to feel that prayer has gone up for months and years without answer, and that even the attempt to think only upon the Lord has brought no relief, is a still deeper trial.

Yet hear what the Psalmist says, and what our Lord Himself proved true, My God, My God, even when forsaken, still My God. Confidence in God must never degenerate into suspicion and never turn aside into unbelief. When you have sought a blessing from God for many months and have not obtained it, the general guide for your conduct is to keep on crying to Him. He makes the storm a calm in His own time, and God hears us when we cannot hear ourselves pray and when we cannot put the words of our supplication in proper order. He knows what you mean to say and gives what you really need.

Do not think your prayers have been wasted. What multitudes of prayers you have put up, and the first prayer for mercy through the blood of Christ He surely heard. How small the faith of our most faithful prayers, and yet what a God is He that He should hear the prayers of those who come to Him in want. Often we doubt Him upon our knees, and often we come not believing the very promises we plead, and our prayers themselves need washing and cleansing. Still He hears for Christ's sake, not for the perfection of our words. You are not unheard because you are vulnerable, autistic, disabled, or without a voice among men. You have a voice with God through Jesus Christ, who was found in fashion as a Man that we might look upon God through Him and find Him to be our hiding place.

You ask for strength to go on with your own life, to be preserved from trouble, to be kept from the constant sight and thought of injustice, and for protection as you have spoken what is true at cost to yourself. This is a right and needful prayer. The Lord is the God of peace, for He created peace and pronounced His creation very good, and He is the God of peace because He restores it when sin has broken it. He went after Adam when Adam did not seek Him, saying Adam, where art thou, and He still goes after His afflicted children in mercy. He will bless His people with peace, not a peace you can work out for yourself, but a peace that comes from His own hand.

That peace is described as the peace of God which passes all understanding, which shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. It is peace with God through the blood of the everlasting covenant, and then peace in the soul which none but he that feels it knows. If your mind is stayed on God He will keep you in perfect peace. You could not keep yourself in perfect peace in the hour of tribulation or faintness or decay, but the Lord can keep you. When heart and flesh fail, God will be your joy. Taste and see that the peace of God is good.

You fear, and fear in such a case is not childish. When the soul suffers from the palsy of fear, it must lay hold upon the Strong One and get strength from Him, and so fears shall be cast out. The business of faith is to trust in Christ when you do feel your sins and your weakness and your danger. You are kept not by your own power to forget or to transcend, but by being kept. You are my hiding place, you shall preserve me from trouble. Take Him to be your hiding place now, not only from sin but from all the sorrows of the way.

Do not cut yourself off from the fellowship of the saints more than necessity requires. The Lord loves to dwell among His people and He dwells in His Church by His Spirit. Seek a quiet place where the Word of God is faithfully preached, and where you can be preserved and nourished, for it is the Word of God applied by the Holy Spirit that is the means of healing sin sick and sorrow sick souls. And the Word Himself, the Lord Jesus Christ, is He whom God has sent for healing.

I will pray for you as you have asked, and I entreat you to keep praying.

O Lord God of peace, who did bring again from the dead our Lord Jesus through the blood of the everlasting covenant, look upon this afflicted one who has been harmed and pursued and left isolated. You see what man does not see and you hear what man will not hear. Preserve this your child from trouble, be his hiding place, keep his heart and mind through Christ Jesus, and bless him with that peace which passes all understanding. Give strength for each day to go on with the life you have given, guard from fear and from the power of the oppressor, and let no weapon formed against him prosper. Teach him to cast every care upon you, to render to you the gratitude for mercies received, and to wait upon you till the storm becomes a calm. In the name and for the sake of Jesus Christ our only Saviour, who died for the ungodly that we might have peace with God, hear and answer. Amen.

Continue to cry to Him. He has not forgotten you, and He will not despise the broken and contrite heart.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

I have read your words with sorrow and care, and I thank you for trusting us with such a painful and heavy story. What you endured was real and grievous, and the ongoing pain of seeing the one who harmed you praised in public while you have been left isolated, vulnerable and without a voice is a deep wound. It is understandable that you feel despair, exhaustion and even fear after trying so long to be heard by God and by others and feeling no answer has come.

God does not overlook what has been done in secret or what is done for show. He sees both those who use power and position for vanity and dishonesty, and those who are vulnerable and have been used and harmed. Scripture teaches that He will bring all things into judgment, and that to neglect or to exploit the hungry, the poor and the vulnerable is to sin against Christ Himself. The boastful will not stand justified before Him because of their connections or their publicity, and your suffering has not been hidden from Him. Even when prayers feel unanswered and justice feels absent in this life, the Lord remains the true judge who defends the cause of those who have no strength on their own.

At the same time, your longing simply to live, to be protected, to find peace and to be free from the constant thought of this man and this injustice is a right and good desire. It is not wrong to step away from local press and media that brings this torment before your eyes, but please do not let that necessary boundary cut you off entirely from community. You are not mad and you are not forgotten. Your autism, disability and past trauma do not make you less precious in the sight of God, and they do not disqualify your voice. You have shown courage in surviving and in getting away when few others could.

I want to pray for you now in the name of Jesus Christ, through whom alone we have salvation and access to the Father.

Father in heaven, we bring this dear one before You in the name of Your Son Jesus. You know the harm that was done, the coercion and the abuse of power, the homelessness and trauma that followed, and the long years of feeling unheard by regulators, by people in authority and even, in moments of despair, by You. Lord, have mercy and spread Your protection over this life. Guard this person from further harm, from retaliation for speaking the truth, and from fear. Give strength for each day, quiet the turmoil of constant thoughts, and grant rest to a mind and body that have carried so much for so long.

Heal what has been wounded, Lord, and give wisdom to know how to live with healthy boundaries, to find safe community and trusted help, and to leave vengeance in Your hands while walking forward in peace. When prayers feel empty, remind this heart that You hear, that You are near to the brokenhearted, and that You have not abandoned Your child. Help this one to keep looking to Christ, not to transcend pain by forgetting, but to be sustained by Your love that never fails and that holds fast even when human justice fails.

We ask that You would also protect all others who are vulnerable to this same exploitation, and that You would in Your time and Your wisdom bring truth to light and restrain evil. Until then, grant this soul the grace to go on with life, to find meaningful work and fellowship again as You provide, and to know that their worth and future rest in You and not in what any powerful person says or does.

We ask all this in the saving name of Jesus Christ, our only hope, Amen.

Please, if you can, stay connected to a trusted pastor or counselor and a few safe people in your local church who know you personally and can walk with you over time, check on your safety and help you carry this burden. You do not have to carry it alone, and you do not need to face these memories and fears without support. Keep bringing every sorrow to Jesus, even in few words or in silence, for He hears even what we cannot fully speak. If at any point you feel unsafe, please reach out immediately to a trusted person or to appropriate support services near you.

May the Lord give you peace that guards your heart and mind in Christ, and strength to take the next step He sets before you.

Thank you for trusting us with this painful and honest account. What you have survived is real, and the exhaustion, isolation and despair you describe make sense after years of harm, of trying to get help and feeling unheard, and of seeing the person who harmed you continue to promote himself publicly. God sees all of this clearly, even when it feels like your prayers are not reaching Him and justice is never coming.

When the love of God feels distant because of the mess you are in, Scripture points us to look again at the cross. There God demonstrated His love for you once and for all, while you were still in need. You do not have to find a way to make God love you more or to get Him to finally respond. He is the initiator. He loved first, He gave first, and our whole life with Him is a response to the grace and love we have already received in Christ. What He asks is that we know Him, and then respond to what we know is true about Him. That is very different from trying to earn an answer through our own effort. Your part now is not to strive to be heard, but to believe and trust what He has already done and said.

He also invites complete honesty. You do not have to hide the anger, hatred, fear, or numbness you feel toward the man who harmed you, or the disappointment you feel toward God when answers seem absent. The Psalms give us language for this. You can tell God plainly, I hate what was done, I am afraid, I feel forsaken, I do not know how to love or forgive in my own strength. God can do something with honest prayer. He is not helped by pretending. Bring those raw feelings to Him and ask Him to do what only His Spirit can do in you.

It is also a very hard season when God seems to hide His face and not answer as we hope. That silence is painful, and it does not mean He has changed or that He no longer cares about your physical needs, your safety, or your healing. He is still the same God who has shown power to provide, to heal, and to raise up. He still becomes to you whatever your need requires, whether you need peace, healing, or salvation. He is Yahweh Shalom when you need peace, Yahweh Rapha when you need healing, and Jesus when you need to be saved and held. One way we steady our hearts in that difficult place is to ascribe to Him the glory and strength that are already His. Remembering how great and powerful He is helps put our own overwhelming situations back into perspective. He sits as King forever and He gives strength to His people.

You asked for prayer for strength to go on, for protection, and for the ability to keep living your own life without being consumed by this injustice. That is a right prayer. God is your only true place of strength. To flee from Him brings only more woe, but to run to Him brings mercy. He knows the end from the beginning. He knew you before this harm, He knows the harm that was done, and He knows every person still being used. Nothing is hidden from Him, and no one is forgotten by Him, even when regulators or those in power do not listen. Because He is omniscient, He has always known those who will respond to His grace, and He has chosen and set apart His people by His Spirit. You have a voice before Him even when you feel you have no voice anywhere else. You relate to Him now not as a stranger trying to get attention, but as a child living in grace, one to whom He does not impute iniquity but to whom He gives righteousness in Christ.

Jesus was forsaken for a moment on the cross when He bore our sin, so that you would never have to be forsaken eternally. Sin always brings separation, and He took that separation for you. That means even in loneliness, even when you feel cut off from community by disability, autism, and the need to avoid places where you will see this man, you are not cut off from God. And God has often used those whom others overlook, people who are in trouble, in debt, isolated or considered unlikely, to show His power. Your vulnerability, your autism, your disability do not make you less able to hear Him or less valued by Him.

Two gentle cautions may help as you seek to move forward. First, what we fix our hearts on can begin to displace God without us intending it. Anything that comes between God and us, even a very understandable focus on an abuser and on the injustice we have suffered, can become an idol that occupies the mind and heart. Guarding your heart does not mean pretending the injustice did not happen, but it does mean asking God to keep Himself first in your affections, to return to your first love for Jesus, and to let your labor be a labor of love for Him. Second, love for enemies does not mean approving what is evil. It means asking God to open blind eyes and to free people from the deception and distortion that drives them to use others with greed and impurity. You can pray for this man that God would expose the deception, bring conviction, and set him free, while also trusting God to be the just Judge. God will deal justly. We wait for Jesus to deliver us from the wrath to come, and that includes His final righteous judgment.

Your concern for others who are still being used reflects a tender conscience shaped by having to defend lives as a child. It is loving to care, and it is also right to place those people into God's hands when you cannot protect them yourself. You cannot carry them alone.

I am praying for you in Jesus name. Father, I lift up this dear child of Yours who has endured so much harm and who feels unheard and unseen by people in power. Show in a fresh way the love You demonstrated at the cross, and help Your child to know Your grace, goodness and love in Christ and to respond to it. Give strength for each day, Your peace that guards heart and mind, and healing where there has been trauma. Protect from further harm and from fear of speaking truth. Provide safe community so isolation does not remain total, and give wisdom about what to share, when to be silent, and where to find trustworthy help. For those still being exploited, bring protection and exposure of what is hidden. For the man who has done this harm, open his eyes to see his deception and bring him to repentance, and stop his abuse of power. Help Your child to keep You first, to listen for Your voice more than striving to be heard, and to wait with hope for the deliverance Jesus brings. In Jesus name, Amen.

You are not forgotten. Keep bringing your honest heart to Him, keep listening for Him in His Word, and let Him be your strength day by day.
