Prayer for ###'s surgery

Anonymous

Beloved of All
Jesus I love you and thank you. I pray that you would move on my behalf. Unblock the doors and remove the people that are hindering my finances. Please make state farm pay out my full settlement for my car accident today. I am left in debt and pain for accident I didn't cause. Also I need floodgates of interviews and job opportunities to open to me. Bless me to have multiple job offers at the same time. Please allow me to pick the one that you see fit. Bless me to have a loving relationship. I have been praying to meet my Boaz and marry him. I pray that I am the best wife and mother. Please do all these things for me. I pray my parents are there for my wedding. I am ### now and they are ###. My mom keeps making me feel terrible that I am not married. I have been seeking God and patiently waiting. She thinks something is wrong with me for not being chosen. Please prove her wrong. I love you and thank you.

We join you in thanking Jesus for His love and mercy and we lift your many burdens to the Father together in Jesus' name. We hear your heart for healing and restoration after this car accident that was not your fault, for financial breakthrough and justice regarding your settlement, for open doors in employment, and for the deep desire to be married and to be a godly wife and mother. We also hear the pain you carry from your mother's words and the pressure you feel as time passes and as you long for your parents to be present at your wedding.

We want to encourage you that God sees your pain and your waiting and He is not distant from it. His Word tells us to be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God, and the peace of God which surpasses all understanding will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus, Philippians 4:6-7. We also remember that we are to trust in Yahweh with all our heart and not lean on our own understanding, in all our ways acknowledge him and he will make our paths straight, Proverbs 3:5-6. It is good that you are bringing every request to Jesus, for Jesus said I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me, John 14:6, and there is salvation and access to God in no other name.

We gently want to speak to a few attitudes in your prayer so that your heart may find even greater peace. When we pray for God to remove people who are hindering us or to force a specific outcome today, we must remember that God calls us to love even those we feel are against us and to trust His timing and justice rather than demanding our will be done immediately. Vengeance belongs to the Lord and He will repay, Romans 12:19, and He promises to cause all things to work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose, Romans 8:28. We can pray for a just and fair settlement from State Farm and for the Lord to provide for your debts and pain, but we surrender the timing and the outcome to Him, knowing He will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus, Philippians 4:19. We also encourage you not to pray to prove your mother wrong, but to honor her even while her words hurt you. God commands us to honor your father and your mother, Exodus 20:12, and to let no corrupt speech proceed out of our mouths but only what is good for building up, Ephesians 4:29. Your worth is not determined by whether you are chosen for marriage, but by being chosen and deeply loved by Christ. Your waiting is not a sign that something is wrong with you. The Lord says wait for Yahweh. Be strong, and let your heart take courage. Yes, wait for Yahweh, Psalm 27:14, and that singleness itself can be a holy season to serve the Lord wholeheartedly, 1 Corinthians 7:32-34.

We rejoice that you are praying for a Boaz and for marriage rather than simply a relationship or partnership. We strongly affirm God's design for marriage as a lifelong covenant between a man and a woman, as a man leaves his father and his mother and shall be joined to his wife and they shall be one flesh, Genesis 2:24. He who finds a wife finds a good thing and obtains favor from Yahweh, Proverbs 18:22. We pray that you will continue to pursue courtship with the goal of marriage to a fellow believer in Christ, for we are not to be unequally yoked with unbelievers, 2 Corinthians 6:14, and to keep yourself pure as you wait, trusting that delighting yourself in Yahweh will align your desires with His will, Psalm 37:4. Seek first God's Kingdom and his righteousness and all these things will be given to you as well, Matthew 6:33.

We pray together for you now.

Father in heaven, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus and we thank You for this dear sister who loves You. We ask for Your healing hand upon her body from the pain of this accident, and if there is a surgery before her, we ask You to guide the surgeons hands and bring complete restoration, for You have said I will restore health to you and I will heal you of your wounds, Jeremiah 30:17. Lord, we ask for Your justice and provision in her finances. Move on her behalf regarding this settlement, let what is fair and just be done, and provide for her debts so she is not crushed by what another caused. Open doors for employment that no man can shut, Revelation 3:8, and lead her to the job You have prepared where she can work heartily as for You and not for men, Colossians 3:23. Give her wisdom to choose the offer that fits Your purpose. Father, we lift up her desire for a godly marriage. Prepare her future husband, a man after Your own heart who will love her as Christ loved the church, Ephesians 5:25, and prepare her to be the godly wife and mother she longs to be. Guard her heart from despair and from the sting of hurtful words, and help her to forgive her mother and to walk in honor while also finding her identity securely in Christ. Grant her parents health and length of days and comfort her with Your perfect timing, for to everything there is a season and a time to every purpose under heaven, Ecclesiastes 3:1. Let her know she is fully seen, fully known and fully loved by You while she waits. We ask all of this according to Your perfect will in Jesus name, amen.

Thank you for sharing so honestly with us. We hear how heavy this season feels with so many important hopes carried at once, the pain and debt left from an accident that wasn't your fault, the wait for a fair settlement, the need for steady work, and the deep desire to be married and to build a family. It is understandable to feel worn down, especially when your mom's comments make the waiting feel like a judgment on you.

We admire that you have been seeking God patiently while also being honest about what you want. Longing for marriage and for your parents to share in that joy is a good and tender desire, and the pressure you feel from family does not mean something is wrong with you.

A couple of steady next steps that may help lighten the load: for the settlement and job search, it can help to have another trusted set of eyes alongside you, perhaps a legal aid clinic or advocate to review the insurance paperwork, and a financial counselor or career mentor through your church or community who can help with budgeting while you wait and with applications and interviews. Having someone in your corner often makes the process less isolating. And with your mom, when you have the energy, a brief, calm note about how her words affect you can sometimes ease that tension, even as you continue to lean on friends who encourage you well.

If pain from the accident is ongoing, we encourage you to stay in touch with your medical provider as well as we pray for healing.

Father, we bring our sister to You in Jesus' name. You see her finances, her health, her work, and her hope for marriage and family. Give her wisdom for each decision, provision for each need, and peace as she waits on Your direction. Guard her heart from shame and remind her she is seen and loved by You. Lead her step by step in the days ahead. Amen.

Your prayer comes before the Lord laden with many burdens, pain of body from the accident, pressure of debt, anxiety for work, and the deep longing of the heart for marriage and a home. These are not light things, and it is right to bring them to the throne of grace, for our God waits to be gracious and hears the cry of those who seek Him.

Yet there is a word of wisdom which Job learned in the ashes which may help you now. Elihu asked Job, Should it be according to thy mind. We are prone to lay a plan before the Lord and ask Him to sign it without alteration, to pay the settlement today, to open many doors at once and give us the choice of them, to send the husband at the hour we have fixed. But it is never wise to dispute with God or to contend with our Maker over His ways. Job had to retract his pleadings and confess that God must be right and we must yield. The waiting God has His own time of love, and His people are a waiting people, not waiting in despair but in joyous and assured hope that He will do what is best.

This does not mean your desires are wrong in themselves. To ask for justice where you have been wronged, for honest work whereby you may provide for yourself, and for a holy marriage wherein a man and a woman are joined in lifelong covenant, is good and lawful. The Lord who ordained marriage from the beginning honors such prayer when it is offered in submission to His will. To desire to be a faithful wife and mother, if the Lord so grants, is a worthy desire. But we must ask that He would give these things if it be for His glory and our good, and that He would keep us chaste and content in the waiting, reserving the gift of love and of the body for the covenant of marriage alone.

Remember Job, who in all his losses sinned not nor charged God foolishly. He tore his mantle and worshipped. He was kept right with God under the trial, and at the last the Lord turned again his captivity. Your sorrows shall have an end when God has gotten His end in them, which is to make you to know Him more nearly, as Job said, now mine eye seeth Thee, and to form patience and faith within you. He can anoint you with fresh oil and renew your strength as He renewed Job's bow in his hand, even though for a season your glory seems not fresh in you.

Therefore let us pray not as those who dictate but as children who trust.

May the Lord, who is righteous and merciful, look upon your pain and your debt and provide for your needs according to His riches in Christ Jesus, and grant justice where justice is due. May He open the right door of honest labor in His season, and give you grace to wait upon Him patiently and to work heartily as unto Him. May He, if it be His will, bring into your life a godly man who fears God and eschews evil, that you may enter into that holy estate of marriage which is of one man and one woman for life, and may He keep you both pure until that day. May He give you peace under the words of your mother, and help you to know that your worth is not in being chosen by man but in being chosen by Christ, who alone is our salvation, and may He give your parents grace and you grace to honor them while you wait. And above all, may He cause you to find your portion in Himself, so that whether He gives or withholds, you may still say, Though He slay me, yet will I trust in Him.

Continue to seek Him first, to pray for others even as Job prayed for his friends, and to leave the timing and the manner of His answer in His wise and loving hands.
