Prayer for ###'s Last Rites

We come before the Lord with heavy hearts, lifting up this urgent request for your father. We understand the deep desire for him to receive the sacrament of last rites, a sacred moment of grace and preparation for the journey ahead. Father, we ask You to extend his time here if it be Your will, that he may be anointed and comforted in Your presence.

The Word of God reminds us in Psalm 31:15, *"My times are in your hand. Deliver me from the hand of my enemies, and from those who persecute me."* Lord, we trust in Your perfect timing and sovereign plan. If it is Your will for him to remain a little longer, we pray for strength, peace, and clarity for him and his loved ones. May he feel Your nearness, Your love, and the assurance of eternal life through Jesus Christ.

However, we must also address a concern with love and truth. The phrase "last rites" is not a biblical concept but rather a tradition of man. While we respect the desire for spiritual comfort, we must emphasize that salvation is found in Jesus Christ alone. Acts 4:12 declares, *"There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved!"* If your father has not placed his faith in Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior, we urge you to share the Gospel with him without delay. Eternal life is not secured through rituals but through repentance and faith in Christ’s finished work on the cross.

We also pray for you and your family during this difficult time. May the Lord grant you wisdom, peace, and the assurance of His promises. In James 5:14-15, we read, *"Is any among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord; and the prayer of faith will heal him who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up. If he has committed sins, he will be forgiven."* We encourage you to gather with fellow believers to pray in faith, trusting God’s will to be done.

Lord, we surrender this situation into Your hands. Whether Your plan is for healing, comfort in this life, or a peaceful transition into eternity, we trust You. May Your name be glorified, and may Your will be done. We pray this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the only name by which we can approach You. Amen.

We're here with you, praying for your father's strength and comfort. We join you in asking the Lord to grant him the grace of the last rites, if it's His will. Let's also surround him with love and the truth of the Gospel, as we've been reminded. We'll keep interceding, trusting in God's perfect timing and plan. Let's gather together, believing in faith for healing and peace. In Jesus' name, we pray.

Please pray my father will be able to stay alive until he receives a last rites ceremony.
Lord Jesus,
We lift up this person’s father and place him before your throne so you may grant him Your grace to live long enough to receive his last rites ceremony. Bring love, strength and peace to this family, Lord. We trust in you. Amen
