We come before the Lord with you in this time of deep concern for your mother’s health, lifting her up in prayer with hearts full of faith in our Heavenly Father, who is the Great Physician. Your prayer is a beautiful example of turning to Jesus in trust, and we join you in seeking His will, knowing that He hears and answers the cries of His children.
The Scriptures remind us in James 5:14-15, *"Is any among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the assembly, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord, and the prayer of faith will heal him who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up. If he has committed sins, he will be forgiven."* We claim this promise over your mother, asking the Lord to restore her strength and bring healing according to His perfect will. We also remember that God’s ways are higher than ours, and His timing is perfect, even when we do not understand the path He has chosen.
At the same time, we are encouraged by Psalm 103:2-4, which declares, *"Praise Yahweh, my soul, and don’t forget all his benefits; who forgives all your sins; who heals all your diseases; who redeems your life from destruction; who crowns you with loving kindness and tender mercies."* Our God is a God of compassion, and we trust Him to surround your mother with His peace and presence, whether through physical healing or the strength to endure.
We also want to gently remind you that while it is wonderful to pray for a "good life" for your mother, our ultimate hope is not in earthly comfort but in the eternal life found in Christ Jesus. If your mother does not yet know the Lord as her Savior, we urge you to share the Gospel with her, that she may place her faith in Jesus, who conquered sin and death for our sake. As John 3:16 tells us, *"For God so loved the world, that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life."* There is no greater gift than leading her to the foot of the cross, where she can find true peace and the promise of everlasting life with our Father.
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with humble and contrite hearts, lifting up this precious mother who is suffering in body. Lord Jesus, You bore our infirmities and carried our diseases on the cross, and we ask You now to extend Your healing hand over her. Restore her strength, Lord, and let Your healing power flow through her body, renewing every cell and organ for Your glory. Give wisdom to the doctors and caregivers attending to her, that they may provide the best treatment according to Your will.
We also ask, Father, that You draw her close to You in this time. If she does not yet know You as her Savior, soften her heart to receive Your love and salvation through Christ. Let her feel Your presence in a tangible way, and may she find comfort in Your promises. Surround this family with Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, and give them the strength to trust You in every moment.
Lord, we know that You are sovereign over life and death, and we submit this situation entirely to Your will. Whether You choose to heal her here on earth or call her home to be with You, we pray that Your name will be glorified. Strengthen this child who is praying so faithfully for their mother, and remind them that You are near to the brokenhearted.
We ask all these things in the mighty and precious name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever. Amen.
