We come before the Lord with you in this time of need, lifting up your situation regarding the roof over your home. It is a heavy burden to bear when the very shelter God has provided is compromised, and we understand the stress this brings, especially in retirement and with health concerns. The Lord knows your needs before you even ask, and He is faithful to provide. Let us remember the words of Jesus in Matthew 6:25-34, where He assures us not to be anxious about our needs, for our Heavenly Father knows what we require. He cares for the birds of the air and the lilies of the field—how much more will He care for you, His beloved children?
We also recall Philippians 4:19, which declares, *"My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus."* This is His promise, and He does not break His promises. While the insurance company has denied your claim, the Lord is not limited by man’s decisions. He can open doors where there seem to be none, provide resources in unexpected ways, and move hearts to help. We pray that He will do just that for you and your husband, meeting this need in a way that brings glory to His name.
At the same time, we encourage you to seek wisdom and guidance in how to proceed practically. Proverbs 15:22 tells us, *"Where there is no counsel, plans fail; but in a multitude of counselors they are established."* Consider reaching out to your church family or trusted believers who may offer advice or assistance, whether through connections to reliable contractors, financial guidance, or even hands-on help. The body of Christ is called to bear one another’s burdens, and this is a time to lean on that support.
We also want to gently remind you that in all things, we must seek the Lord first and trust in His sovereignty. Sometimes, trials like this are opportunities for Him to display His power and provision in our lives. James 1:2-4 encourages us to *"count it all joy, my brothers, when you fall into various temptations, knowing that the testing of your faith produces endurance. Let endurance have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing."* Though this situation is difficult, we pray that the Lord will use it to strengthen your faith and draw you closer to Him.
Now, let us pray together for you and your husband:
Heavenly Father, we come before You today on behalf of our sister and her husband, lifting up their need for a secure and dry home. Lord, You are the Provider, the God who owns the cattle on a thousand hills and supplies all our needs according to Your riches in glory. We ask that You intervene in this situation, Lord. Where there seems to be no way, make a way. Open doors that no man can shut, and provide the resources needed to repair their roof. Father, we pray for favor—favor with contractors, favor with finances, and favor in the eyes of those who can help. Let Your hand be evident in this, Lord, so that they may see Your faithfulness and give You all the glory.
We also pray for their health, Lord. Strengthen their bodies, renew their energy, and grant them peace in the midst of this trial. Remind them that You are their refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Let them rest in the knowledge that You are working all things together for their good, even when the path is unclear.
Father, we rebuke any fear or anxiety that may be creeping into their hearts. Replace it with Your perfect peace, which surpasses all understanding. Help them to cast all their cares upon You, for You care for them. We ask that You surround them with Your love and the support of Your people, that they may not feel alone in this.
Finally, Lord, we pray that through this situation, their faith would grow stronger, and their testimony would shine brighter. May they see Your hand at work in ways they never expected, and may their hearts overflow with gratitude for Your provision.
We ask all these things in the mighty and precious name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, who is the same yesterday, today, and forever. Amen.
